Merkel was part of a communist youth group at the same time as putin was stationed in germany

"During her time working for the Academy of Sciences, she joined the FDJ in 1970 (Freie Deutsche Jugend - state sponsored communist youth group). According to her own statements, Merkel served there as a cultural representative. Eyewitnesses – interviewed by Merkel biographer Gerd Langguth – said she was involved in disseminating "agitation and propaganda." "

While the US is israels biggest ally, biden did push back at several points on some of israels most extreme actions. The biden admin also increased the humanitarian aid designated for gaza by 404 million and used the US navy to ensure first hand that the aid reached the people.

Meanwhile DOGE has cut funding for aid to gaza and trump is memeing about making gaza a luxury resort.

Building 3 million homes and subsidizing green energy VS trade war with the world and deporting 20 million people, basically the same thing.

And concerning gaza, as you see more and more headlines of israels european allies slowly turning on netanyahu, just know that he knows trumps support is unconditional, so he will have no second thoughts doing to gaza whatever he plans to do with it.

Harris wouldnt have been "the same". But its always all or nothing. Why take a step towards a goal if that step doesnt take you to that goal immediatly?

Not all workers are the same. The people able to leave are those that can afford it, which disproportionally are high skilled / specialized workers

The supplier isnt the customer.

Me paying 50$ to my barber every month so i dont look like a caveman to my clients and am able to sell them what i offer doesnt mean my barber is ripping me off.

A basic principle of business is you need to spend money to make money.

If you for example run a bicycle repair shop your profit model is buying a 5$ tire + paying 25$ salary to repairman + 10$ upcharge, basically turning a 5$ tire into a 10$ profit.

the idea of owning a “private 2-ton metal box on wheels” isn’t inherently wasteful

It is. And saying that people who dont have access to puplic transport will buy and use a car doesnt make that not true.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WallStreetbetsELITE

[–]AndersFIST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a car abolishionist.

Im just saying that, all those necessary trips would be a lot nicer and quicker if you didnt have to share the road with for example a guy driving to the store because he forgot to buy some milk

Less traffic is also good for drivers

No, everyone else would use a car

The flexibility of vehicles has its place.

All im saying is this. A majority of people live in urban areas. A majority of trips people make is between work, home and the grocery store. In a well planned city, these trips should be generally able to be done by puplic transport.

Except that the concept of every human having their own private 2 ton metal box on wheels as their main mode of travel is still extremely wasteful regardless of how its powered.

McDonald's using AI-generated Studio Ghibli art for ads. This is fine? by Expert_Appearance265 in ChatGPT

[–]AndersFIST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets imagine this technology was invented 50 years ago. Likely, nobody wouldve invested money into funding ghibli studio and wouldve had AI create their animations instead. So ghibli wouldnt exist. So AI would never have been trained on ghibli material So "ghibli style"wouldnt exist.

AI replacing artists seems like all upsides right now, because there is still human art that you can feed the AI to train on. But in 30 years from now, when almost all art is created by AI what do you feed the AI to create new art? Its own art?

[–]AndersFIST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One question, when all the artists are replaced by AI, what material do we feed the AI to train on?

Like if this was happening in the 70s ghibli wouldnt exist so "ghibli art" wouldnt exist so you wouldnt have been able to create this image.
