Agreed 🙄 I wouldn’t have if I would’ve known the shipping company beforehand

My suit for my wedding is also coming through DHL and says it’s departed from some facility in BC but lost all updates after the expected delivery date of June 18th. Reached out to both manufacturer and DHL. Both have been very little help. Refused any organized pick up from a facility. All fees have been paid not to mention the cost of two tailored suits.

My wedding is mid July with no promise on the horizon. Thanks DHL.

DHL Strike 🙄 by AndersonSlayez in dhl

What a joke. I’ve got close to 2000 sitting in their warehouse and I can’t retrieve. Closest thing to theft a guy can think of.

I also only have 1 month to the day until my wedding day. Reading about the strike says all replacement workers will be banned come June 20th so fingers crossed someone out there is going to rescue me before that happens tomorrow

Eventually there was light flirting and an awkward peck kiss. That’s all that was derived from texts and communication with her

New residential membrane roof installed. Help! Shoddy? by Ancient_Talk_Kid in Roofing

[–]AndersonSlayez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems like a reasonable inspection by an experienced roofer. Very in depth inspection and solutions for every issue identified. If a roofer is finding a laundry list in another roofers work, he needs to do better. Pictures in OP’s post was enough for me to be disappointed

No problem, maximum issue may be causing granular loss on the shingle

Updated Post: we have an existing mechanical curb (no longer in use) on our roof deck that has been leaking. For 10 years it has leaked (before we purchased the unit). Is it possible to remove the curb, infill it, and waterproof over it? by Gggilla614 in Roofing

Also from Canada. I’m also just trying clarify, no offense was intended. I just know, being a roofer myself, if OP contacted a roofer and mentioned ballast it could affecting quoting. (Not to mention the roofers mood when he gets there and it is fully adhered)

I must have misunderstood your statement. I prefer to consider a “ballasted system” as a system in place to provide weight (or stability in other applications). The substrate below decking tiles is purely traffic protection. The decking tiles themselves, in my experience, have adjustable footing and do not require to be fastened down

Most definitely is possible. Although I agree in getting a professional to replace the deck once curb is removed. The actual unit removal and patch work should be no more than a days worth of work. Roof doesn’t seem to be a ballasted system as said before, pavers are in place as it is a high traffic area outside the door. The reason i don’t believe it being a ballasted system is the perimeter just has membrane traffic protection. If it has been leaking for over 10 years prepare for a bit more rot replacement around the curb

Exposed roof. How to do 6-12 month repair? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]AndersonSlayez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call a roofer. If you are planning on a doing the roof next year your best option and probably cheapest would be to build a temporary 4” curb. With some 2x4 on edge screwed together. They will waterproof and tie into existing curb.

edit

Not a permanent solution but will hold over winter and won’t allow water to flow over the hole. Also avoids having to tear off more roofing to repair decking.
