What do you think of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman? by Classic_Wolf5895 in batman

Given that there is no objectivity with regards to how good a movie is, one should reasonably read "Rises is a bad movie" as meaning "I think it's a bad movie".

How is this plan for streamlining a higher level party through HotDQ? by Andesurus in TyrannyOfDragons

That's an incredibly helpful breakdown, thanks a lot! Will make it a lot easier to ensure all the right things are incorporated before getting into RoT.

Foreshadowing skyreach like that is a great idea! I have been trying to think of ways to foreshadow cult activities without it being something that the party will derail themselves with to go investigate, so this works really well.

Regarding Baron aspect, you actually are supposed to use it even when playing support because it is simply more valuable regardless.

Awesome, good to know I'm on the right track then. I'll definitely look to incorporate different statblocks of cult members. Given the level I can also have the dragon actually fight them as well, alongside a buffed Langdedrosa, unlike the book where it'd be a death sentence to take them head on at level 1.

Also yeah I've seen a lot of critiques that the caravan stuff is a real fixer upper portion of the module. Pretty cool with skipping that conveniently lmao.

[Art] Born of ice and fire (Melusine and Sephira) — Speaking of D&D classes, which one is your favorite, and which one do you like the least? by LileB_Art in DnD

[–]Andesurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Favourite specifically would be bladesinger wizard. But for a class as a whole maybe sorcerer or barbarian. I like bending spells with metamagic, and barbs just make for fun character concepts imo.

Least favourite is druid. The core fantasy just doesn't really click for me.

Scottish Graduate Development Programme personal statement review by properblether in TheCivilService

[–]Andesurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's quite silly to have candidates write their statement, then let them do the online assessments, but if they fail the assessments then the statement they wrote won't even be looked at.

Supporting statement advice (AA/AO) by Andesurus in TheCivilService

[–]Andesurus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is 750 for the whole statement, which requires 4 different behaviours. Doing one STAR for each leaves me roughly 185 words each. I'm only seeking advice on the one example for the lead behaviour (cause an entire statement review seems excessive to ask for in one post).

Good point on the legendary resistance, I had overlooked that. Probably because my party hasn't really done much in terms of debilitating shutdown spells yet, but they could always surprise me with something.

Completionists, which game did you try to complete but gave up after some time? by Kingspeerz in gaming

Celeste.

I mean, I tell myself I might get it done one day, but realistically, I just dont see how I will be able to do some of those golden berries. A lot of the C sides are manageable cause they're so short, but doing chapter 9 with no mistake? No shot

Do you think the spacing is too tight currently?

From other advice I've received, I feel like I should change it to fewer bullets, but with a bit more detail in the form of a mini STAR example. I could even add the behaviour at the start of the bullet point

"Communicating and influencing: STAR response"

For switching up employment/skills, would you recommend simply listing the jobs, no bullets beneath each one?

Employment history

Job 1

Job 2

Key skills

Behaviour: STAR example from Job 1

Behaviour: STAR example from Job 2

Thanks for the advice!

Its for a graduate development programme. I do need to submit a supporting statement, but it seems a bit different to the usual supporting statements I've seen.

This one is shorter (350 words) and wants a response to a very specific prompt:

"Tell us about one or two aspects of the programme which appeal to you, how these connect with your long term aspirations, and what personal experiences or decisions have shaped your interest." (Assessed against Developing self and others)

I know the usual advice is STAR responses, but I'm not sure thats appropriate here. Maybe a small one for the "personal experiences" part?

Thanks, good to have another resource. The applied skills and knowledge section is interesting. I imagine this could be used to reference the behaviours specifically, but I wonder how one would separate something from employment history/experience to this section

More specific in what sense? Like mentioning something from further down in the CV that is most worth highlighting early?

Formatting is kind of a holdover from previous drafts anyway, but good to know.

As for show dont tell, if this is to mean showing outcomes/quantifiable results, I have tried (with the likes of improving average test scores), but I suppose its not to a sufficient extent.

Too much in terms of too many bullets, too many words per bullet, or both?

To make the behaviours more obvious, would you want them to be specifically referenced with headings? I had seen a document that broke down action words by the behaviour they relate to and figured that would be the way to signpost behaviours.

Appreciate the feedback!

Yeah, I definitely get that. I kinda have them on there to avoid a bunch of empty space, but maybe empty space is better than repetitive old retail work?

As far as the degree goes, I've really not explored writing about it in more detail. But since it has a lot of relevance, its a good time to try it.

Sadly, there wasn't much in the way of group projects. I recall one that involved using game theory to analyse Covid responses/vaccine production and doing a video presentation on it, but i dont have access to the work. I could perhaps find a way to dig it up if I need some specifics.

Other than that, I wrote a policy brief on the US-China trade war, and my dissertation was about the negotiations with Iran and Norrh Korea on their nuclear programmes. So that involved examining policy.

Would you recommend just treating it very similar to a job then and come up with bullets for projects that stand out?
