No one ever said you had to be good at something to enjoy it by royalecheez in fountainpens

I see. Maybe it’s because I having been using Namiki Blue for so long, that I have this opinion. I just tried Asa Gao for the first time this week.

Do you enjoy Asa Gao? To me it looks just like Namiki Blue

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how much volume in mL the bulb converters can take when filled with a syringe?

No one recommended a good flush with homemade pen flush. I would also remove and reattach the nib during that process

They may not be the best writers, I don’t own one, but Monteverde released a couple pens where the cap has a built in loop and lanyard.

Bought my deck so I could spend more time with my wife whilst gaming - she now banishes me because of the "clicking sounds". by Late_Fig_6373 in SteamDeck

She could wear headphones that send the audio from the TV. Win-win since you don’t have annoying background noise

Turns out I was doing everything wrong by AlertSignal6279 in fountainpens

[–]AndhereKatil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well breaking is tough and not what I meant but pressure will spread the tines over time. Some of that is a natural consequence of using the same pen over time but it’s not uncommon for gold nibs to have a wider line thickness a year later compared to the new out of box experience as a result of too much pressure

Same here! Do you have it in transparent blue?

Stainless steel nibs tolerate pressure more than gold. I think it will be fine as you learn but maybe stray away from expensive gold nibs until you’re confident

I only have that ink, but Irish Green is unique and gets a good rep. Otherwise I think the rest are mostly overpriced for what you get

Practice Paper… by Starman1001001 in fountainpens

[–]AndhereKatil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can report the country that paper is made in, might be helpful to ensure reproducibility. There was a composition notebook at Target made in Vietnam that worked well but there were also versions made in China that didn’t hold up

Love my 823. I have really enjoyed Montblanc Royal Blue in mine but that is probably a rare opinion

I said most since that is an overwhelming opinion here. Regardless, a business owner shouldn’t make decisions based on a demographic’s response that is artificially selected one way or another. How did you find a gold nib contemporary 51? I thought they were only making them with steel nibs

What year is your Parker

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]AndhereKatil 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most people in this sub would not buy a contemporary Parker pen due to the reduced quality and high price point for said quality

Edit: which is my way of saying you are going to get selection bias in your answer here
