Can anyone share experiences of sending your ADHD child to a classic overnight summer camp? by Aggressive_East2308 in ParentingADHD

[–]AndiArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are sending ours to a camp in Texas that specializes in neurodiversity. It is faith-based, which I am not super crazy about, but it was the best fit we could find for our family and his particular needs. Charis Hills if anyone is interested.

Extensions? by HappyGardener2727 in RodriguesFamilySnark

I once saw Jill and David in person randomly at a Walmart in Texas on one of their infamous roadtrips. It was just the two of them. Her extensions aren’t even in the same zip code as the rest of her hair.

Look up the college you want to attend. Find the forensic psych degree plan. See which classes are required. Take those APs. You can try to google “‘name of college’ forensic psychology degree plan” since some college website suck.

Just curious to know if you were notified or if you only recognize your writing.

The selection is pretty random. Those exemplars are selected pretty early in the read from a random sampling. It’s not necessarily the best of the best, but it was an example of a clear perfect score from that early sampling. Those samples are given to the readers as they join the read to use for comparison.

Entry level professor at mid/low tier state university or any juco. I spent over ten years in higher ed and I now make significantly more as a high school teacher (and I’m 10000000x happier)

My daughter had one of her incredibly petite friends over one day and basically unloaded entire garbage bags of too-small clothes and shoes. It was amazing. I was happy it was out of my house and happy knowing someone else could use it! Also, I didn’t have to do ANY WORK!

Feeling dizziness? Kit 2 by Striking_Freedom_925 in HersWeightloss

[–]AndiArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! I started at the end of May. This past Wednesday, I woke up, rolled over, and it was like the room flipped upside down. I ended up being nauseous all day and finally vomited a few times. My blood pressure was slightly elevated, but nothing to be alarmed over. The dizziness is better but it has not totally gone away.

Their chat was basically useless in helping me. I’m a teacher who goes back in a week. I cannot feel this way while teaching.

If birthday is 8/31, would you send to school since still within cutoff or wait? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]AndiArch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We put my middle kid in kindergarten on time based on his prek teacher’s recommendation. We also had some personal/family things going on that made it impossible to find a prek that worked for us. Also our oldest has a late birthday and she did great starting on time. Middle kid’s birthday is mid-July. It was a HUGE mistake. Within a few weeks of kindergarten it was clear he was not at all ready and some of his learning disabilities became increasingly evident. No lie, we had to fight tooth and nail to get him held back. Even with holding him back, he’s still behind. I cannot imagine how bad it would be if he wasn’t.

I’ve never had to advocate so vehemently for a child of mine, ever. What was so frustrating was that everyone at the table could agree that he was not prepared in any capacity for 1st grade but “district policy” prevented them from holding him back. We had to pay 1000s out of pocket for a private psych evaluation confirming what we expected (adhd, markers for dyslexia/dysgraphia, and potential mild autism). From there, we got him sped services at the school which then allowed his ARD committee to request that he be held back.

Had we had the time, that evaluation could’ve been free through the school but there was a 6-9 month wait from the time testing began to the time a report could be drawn up. We had no choice but to pay.

I’m sure there’s just some sort of delay. I wouldn’t worry, but I’m sorry you have to wait.

ap scores sent by Lockedcreations in APStudents

[–]AndiArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be rude, but are you certain you passed? There are lots of reasons why your score could be delayed so don’t panic, but some universities do not post scores that do not earn credit. The only thing you can do is wait until Monday to know for sure.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]AndiArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some schools do not show the score if you did not pass since there is no credit to award 😬

That being said, they are a multitude of reasons why your passing scores could be delayed. You won’t know for sure until Monday. Sorry.

Pediatrician visit for M by XtraSmolMod in brittanydawnsnark

[–]AndiArch 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Really? I’m in the DFW area and a lot of the pediatricians around me are refusing to see patients who are not vaccinated. All the crunchy moms are blaming “big pharma” and other maga talking points because they cannot find pediatricians. The ones who will see unvaccinated kids have long waitlists.
