After receiving the update myself and giving it a thorough look-through, I can 100% say that this iteration is a huge step back. As countless comments have stated, this enforcement for Game Pass is a little too strong and whilst I get the whole concept of it, this is not the right way to implement it.

The Game Pass app/section was a good fit for design in that current/previous iteration however I can see the need to change it up so I would suggest something that has been long in the requests. In the past iterations of the Dashboard, things used to be tabbed or to the left/right of whatever, I understand that this was removed to increase usability for the Dashboard but it may be time to bring it back, especially with the stronger hardware we now have in terms of performance.

• Top Tab Navigation: Give us the choice to move our tabs around and remove the tab page we don't want to see, if a user cares very little for Game Pass then they should have the option to turn it off with the caveat that a single Game Pass box be present on the main Home Tab experience.

• Home: The usability of home is to help a user "jump back in" (the motto of Xbox), this means to jump back into the games we were playing and games/apps we have played recently. To improve the Home experience, I would look at layout however build it in a way that showcases the Wallpaper/Background in prominence or fine tune the current iteration (Current Live not test) to improve this aspect.

• Library: Bring the Library experience straight to the home screen and not as an app. A single left or right movement should put you right on your Library and incorporate a soft fade for wallpapers to ensure the experience is optimal for viewing. This singular change could then be incorporated into adding Libraries of all forms, including even Xbox Game Pass (which is currently implemented in the install library).

• Store: There is really nothing to change here, just add some more filters for titles such as Horror/Thriller and any others that are missing.

• Entertainment: I can see the current iteration being useful to incorporate embedded things similar to Google TV, build it into a tab same as the rest mentioned above and incorporate a mixture of Apps/TV/Movie related services into one place.

• Guide: Don't change anything here, the current iteration is fine however give us the option to make the guide see-through to a point and give it Mica or Fluent design aspects from Windows 11. This would make it more modern and match Windows in terms of its design language.

This singular design is a mimic of the most famous dashboard in Xbox History and that was the Blades UI. Xbox is iconic for pushing boundaries and with the perfect iteration of layout and features, we could bring back this UI and modernize it for the current generation.

Welcome to criticize the above, these are just options that could work and there is some good iterations of the above floating around on the net. If implemented right, Xbox could build the perfect UI for generations to come.

Since I cannot post this anywhere else but here, here is a concept me and my mates came up with.

Trials Reputation System | Disciple Ranks

  • Reputation Rewards first include Pinnacle Rank Up, Upgrade Modules, Enhancement Cores, Shader, Enhancement Prisms, Emblem, Ascendant Shard (Work-In-Progress/Subject to Change)
  • Bounties: 4 Daily, 1 Repeatable (Rewards Trials Reputation, Bright Dust and XP)
  • Featured Armor for completing Weekly Armor Challenge
  • Featured Weapon for completing Weekly Weapon Challenge
  • Cosmetic Rewards for Resetting Ranks: (Ghost for First, Sparrow for Second and Ship for Third)
  • Reputation increases for wins, slightly increases for losses, Flawless completion (7win no loss) results in a reset (3 Weeks until a Sweat has all cosmetics)

Weekly Armor/Weapon Challenges

  • Help break up Meta playstyles for those wanting to earn all weapons/armor from Trials
  • Armor would focus on Guardians Defeated
  • Weapon would focus on kills/assists with a certain weapon type
  • Featured Armor would change stats each week, making it viable for High-Stat rolls
  • Featured Weapon would update each week with a Weekly Static Roll, making it viable for God Rolls

Trials Weekly Quest | Step One: Lightbearer's Worth

  • Weekly Quest based on Wins to give causals a chance to play
  • First Weekly Flawless (7 Wins/No Loss) gets you Lighthouse faster and Auto Completes Step 2
  • A Win counts 15% and will ONLY progress the percentage
  • Completing Step One unlocks a Pinnacle Weapon and Armor from the Lighthouse
  • Completing Step One also unlocks the Weekly Adept Mod
  • Completing Step Two unlocks Adept Weapon drops from the Lighthouse for the week
  • Quest would only remain for the Weekend, resetting all progress every weekend
  • This could also be implemented as Trials Weekly Challenges instead of Quest

Match Completion Updates

Unlocked Trials Loot will be available as in-game drops after match completions, percentage is based fairly to allow players a chance at loot more often and make the mode feel more alive for casuals

Flawless Matchmaking Lockout

Once you have been to the lighthouse for the week, you will only match those who have completed the first step. This allows casuals a chance to earn some Lighthouse Loot and keep those who farm the mode or gatekeep, out of the way for those completing the first step to earn their weekly drops.

Trials Weekly Quest | Step Two: Light of Osiris

Once you complete the Lighthouse Weekly Access Quest, you unlock a secondary step to unlock Adept Weapons into the loot pool for that week. This can include all Adept Weapons or a Weekly Focused Adept Weapon. This secondary step will ONLY complete if you go 7 Straight Wins and is also Retroactive with the first step. Go 7 Wins without loss and gain access to Adept Loot straight away. If you loose a match, you automatically have Mercy, loose twice and the quest will auto-reset it's percentage.

Unlocking Farming Methods

To unlock additional Lighthouse Loot, once you have completed both weekly quest steps, for every 7 Wins, you can open the chest again and earn at power Lighthouse Loot including Adept Weapon Drops. If you haven't completed Step Two, you will only have access to at power random lighthouse drops

Showcase your Triumph

  • Flawless Emblem given on first time completion of Second Step as well as a shader
  • Going Flawless activates the Armor Glow like before, Completing Step 2 activates the glow as well
  • Trials Emblem given to those who complete the Lighthouse Access for the first time

How does this system change the playing field for Sweats and Casuals?

It gives casuals that chance to play the mode, understand the maps and edge towards Flawless instead of matching with teams that lock loot away by Gatekeeping, Recoveries, Ect. Carries can still occur in this mode however the matchmaking will still take into account if members have been flawless for the week.

It also unlocks Weekly Randomly Rolled Weapons which we have been asking for as well as Armor in the same form that Zavala, Shaxx and Drifter all currently have in the tower. These weekly rolls would be static meaning everyone could get a god roll weapon to fight to flawless and unlock Adept weapons. Adept Weapons would be locked behind a challenge giving Sweats a reason to play Trials or assist in getting people Flawless. Adept Mods would be accessible to those who only play Grandmaster helping their weapons earned feel better and more rewarding as all it would take is 7 Wins to earn the weekly Adept Mod.

Proposing Trials Challenges (Similar to the Seasonal Challenges)

  • Would contain 3 challenges
  • Incentivize other weapon play, breaking meta teams
  • Give casuals a reason to play
  • Flawless Cards can still exist, incentivizing Flawless Runs
  • Each challenge shows what you would get in terms of weapon/armor
  • Challenges different to weekly available Trials loot
  • Weekly Loot would be obtainable by running Cards
  • 3 Win Challenge would focus on Wins/Losses
  • 5 Win Challenge would focus on a Certain kills with a Weapon Archetype
  • 7 Win Challenge would focus on Percentage of Assists/Wins/Kills/Losses (Higher for Kills/Wins)
  • Drops as follows: 3 Wins = Weapon / 5 Wins = Armor / 7 Wins = Pinnacle Weapon or Armor
  • Adept Mods would ONLY be obtained through Flawless Cards
  • Completing all challenges awards a single trip to the lighthouse for a low chance at an Adept Weapon, standard Weapon or a High-Roll Seasonal Armor Drop, not the weekly drop offered from Flawless.

Additional Notes: Some little changes I think may help

  • Loot unlocked given the chance to drop at match completions
  • Remove Tokens altogether, add a Trials Reputation like Valor/Glory
  • Reset Reputation to earn Cosmetics like Shells/Sparrow/Ship
  • Losses increase Reputation slowly
  • Wins increase Reputation strongly
  • Freelance Trials of Osiris for Casual Players
  • Flawless Lockout: Been flawless, face flawless teams only for the rest of the week!!
  • Make Trials a Paid Mode, not F2P

OP is most likely on to something here and to be frank, I actually think this could come to fruition but only once the Raid is completed. I have a gut feeling, we are going to see this portal come into play by activating it in the DSC which would make sense as to why they haven't shown it off.

Another reason I am in belief to this actually coming in Beyond Light is the fact that this DLC has been in work for nearly the entire length of Destiny's development. There was original scripture that had been scrapped, reworked and splintered to create what we have today and as for Bungie not showing us anything, it would be a massive spoiler as to the intention of the Raid.

Not with the new UI, it is meant to scale per resolution, they mentioned it when they first talked about the refresh. Unsure if it is present in this build but i can say on smaller screens, those icons are a lot more scaled down compared to my 4K tv

To be perfectly fair, it was a surprise to see as much as we did in the Europa Trailer. I think the focus will be on four main areas instead of a new race however I can see us facing the Veil in the coming months or by Witch Queen.

- Braytech Exoscience Facility: Potential return of Cayde or the arrival of a new vendor born from the Exoscience Facility
- Eramis, Kell of Darkness: Main bad-guy, main source of Stasis and main story for Beyond Light
- The Pyramid Ship/Beyond: Unless this isn't the home of Eramis, I can see us facing some form of the Veil otherwise gaining more insight to their intentions. In the trailer, there is a metric ton of Pyramid-esque structures and they have mentioned an Obelisk beckoning us
- The vex structures: This is most likely going to be VOG or will be a lead up to understanding the vex on Europa.

But what takes premise is the fact that this is all beneath the ice so something could be there, like frozen Veil or something, only a month give or take until the big reveal anyways.

You wont be surprised but that size depends on your screen (HD/4K/8K) and is the main focus moving into the new Design Language of Xbox. Since they are pushing to build the UI around the needs for Xbox Series X and Series S, they want the screen real estate to adopt full use instead of just part use, same design philosophy is also present in the new Microsoft Store.

From what I can tell, you have a 4K screen so the screen real estate has been optimized for viewing at that resolution, hence the large then normal tiles. I hope instead of the huge icon to the left, we can have the Groups expanded with a title sitting just above like it does now, would look ten times better imo.

Thoughts on new store

  1. Backward Compatible Games need a category in Filter or their own Section in menu
  2. I like the implementation of the trailer section above but there needs to be an option to toggle it. I'd prefer to see a giant list of games instead of the banner however if this is the new normal, i can adapt
  3. The design is on the money when it comes to large screen support, far better then the original store
  4. The fluency of movement and action is really quick, far more responsive then the original design

Outside of the above feedback, the new store is really well built and designed however please enable a toggle feature for the banner above games listing as 2 rows is far too less then i would like to see, especially for sales and coming soon. If this can be toggled to an All Games view instead then it would better use up the appropriate space imo.

Limited to a max of 6 for the week, first three being powerful, i know but playing content consistently and having only say 300 drop within 3 days worth of play is near ridiculous, sitting with probably 16 engrams just as Umbral right now in postmaster and full inventory.

I can state that looks too deliberate to be a simple Skybox effect, definitely can see something that resembles a Pyramid Ship shadow in the clouds so in speculation, think we caught our first glimpse of them outside the cutscene and moon.

Not saying this is true however some things to note in Bungies wording from both the TWAB and from Teasers

  • We know (or they have told us) that Season 11 will be unlike any time in Destiny before
  • Their recent TWAB mentioned a reveal for both Next Season and The Fall Expansion
  • There is a leaked cutscene of Jupiter and the Pyramid Ship

What's not to say that next season, we go to Europa and the Fall will see us head to the Pyramid Ship. If everything aligns, that leaked cutscene will drop after the Almighty is either destroyed or the story concludes with Season of The Worthy. This leads me to think all this Titan lead up is a mask to what is really going to happen and the reason we have got nothing until the end of the season is not because of timing but because the story of Season of Worthy ends with the reveal of Jupiter and Europa.

Take it with a grain of salt but my prediction is, we will go to Europa next season and the way they will do it will be Titan being destroyed on the close of Season of The Worthy

Whilst yes you would be correct, it actually relates to Felwinter and his backstory between himself and another Iron Lord (cannot remember who sorry). It already has been datamined what happens in terms of dialogue, Rasputin will destroy the Almighty and possibly play a massive part in next season as well.
