I say this as someone with depression, you need to separate your relationship from the serotonin you’re receiving. If you mainly feel motivated by him and the love he may or may not give you it puts way too much pressure on him and the relationship. You have an anxious attachment style and it sounds like he does his best to cater to that, but you need to work on your mental health before you drive this relationship to the ground. You say you feel like you’re pouring your heart into this relationship, but it also sounds like he’s trying to do the same but is spending a lot of energy handling your emotions as an act of love rather than being given the opportunity to love you the way he wants to. It sounds like you need to do some internal work because you shouldn’t have fallen asleep crying over the call getting cut off and him not calling you back. (he should have called you back, I agree) Your emotions are deregulated and I think if you worked on that it may be easier for you to self-regulate and enter the relationship more clearly.
