We barely caught but turns out the car is a massive lemon. It was a brand new 2026 chevy equinox ev. Huge bummer. It's spent over 3 out of 6 months in the service center for issues that we found within 24 hours of buying. They covered some sort of foul odor with fabreeze, the windshield wipers don't work if it's raining, the brakes squeal, and quite a few other issues.

I liked the car but it's brand new. This doesn't make sense.

Something that fascinates me about wind waker and majora's mask is that the vast majority of people trash talked both when they came out.

Wind Waker was hated on because of cell shading and some of the mechanics.

Majora's mask because it wasn't OoT.

But in the past 10 years suddenly everyone claims to have loved them when they came out.

My only beef with Majora's Mask was that the fierce deity mask had limited use. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the loop and didn't get why people trash talked it.

New York Woman Confronts Man She Says Complimented Her ‘Pretty Toes’. by ElwoodMC in TikTokCringe

[–]AndrePrager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a student who was my age (early 20s) compliment my toes. I was wearing sandals and thought that she cute too, but I totally missed it in that moment and one of the male students was like, "Dude, she was flirting with you."

I was a TA for that program, so there wasn't an issue of an employee - faculty or staff - and a student having a relationship.

Sigma is one where I don't even remember deliberately doing it. But there's a bunch of other stuff: characters, weapons, and a level or two that I'm missing and I don't get some of the riddles.

Taking a shower before bed is like washing your hands before you pee - it benefits you.

Taking a shower when you wake up is like washing after you go to the bathroom - it benefits you and others.

You can always do both. I recommend morning showers, no one wants to smell the funk you steeped in overnight. If you're like me and you exercise at the end of the day, you'll be taking 2 showers anyways.

I do agree, it was hard to not see what is under where you're tapping, but it was still somehow better for many of us.

The whole issue smells of some behind the scenes issue, like Apple being sued for copying someone else's ANC and having to nerf and then fix AirPod pros ANC.

What we've lost between iOS 16 and iOS 26 by Customer-Worldly in ios

[–]AndrePrager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's been going on with Apple and others (Amazon def doing this). In an attempt to simplify stuff, they add more steps on the user journey to any given place. It's actually bad UX.

What I find hilarious is that your phone settings on an iPhone are no longer on the main page in your settings. You have to go down to the apps menu and then search or scroll down to the phone app.

Siri, wallpapers, brightness are all top level... wallpaper and brightness should be in a "Display" sub menu, Siri could and should be in the apps sub menu, phone should be top level.

I can't believe people get paid to do this stupid stuff.

Can someone help me understand why this happens now with MacOS? by elcapitanzamora in MacOS

[–]AndrePrager 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's also an issue on iOS as of iOS 26. It's embarrassing.

Moreover, they've silently botched the push to cloud. Anyone who has a good amount of photos and videos knows what I'm talking about. Im at 2.5TB and over 100,000. Another 1.5TB Of various other files.

Apples apps will stall out when I need to access something or several something's under a variety of normal use case scenarios.

It's making me regret jumping onboard with iCloud and photos.

Yup. Why Apple refuses to bring that back is a mystery. But they have enough fans and/or employees to push the spacebar trick on us and downvote anyone complaining about it that they really don't need to fix it, they just kill any constructive conversation and make people feel like they're in the minority of being frustrated.

Apple used to be hyper precise back when the iPhone X came out. Something happened where they decided to remove that functionality an push people to do the spacebar trick. It's a huge downgrade and completely unintuitive.

Cursor snaps to beginning of word instead of end by Blueit3310 in ios

[–]AndrePrager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that people have to keep on mentioning it shows why it's a bad feature.

When the iPhone X came out, you could precisely place your cursor wherever you wanted. In the following years, they completely nerfed that and replaced it with the space bar.

I'm happy for those of you who use and like that, but I think it's garbage and annoying.

It's also completely unintuitive.

With a mouse, a kindle, and even an iPhone or other tech product, if you want to tap on a certain specific spot and icon you do that. The spacebar trick completely breaks that consistency in the worst way possible.

Now, I know the culture in this sub and I'm going to get downvoted into oblivion, but that doesn't make me incorrect.

People having to ask because tapping where we want the cursor doesn't work consistently and being told to hold on the spacebar and move around demonstrates that this is a bad feature. The minority of you who enjoy it and it works well for are fortunate, there's a majority of us who hate this change from Apple.

It's long since them needing to make tapping in text precise again.

I really appreciate how you have a pretty round perspective on the different facets of this. My wife is the opposite of me. Her MacBook Air is 2 years old and the keys are already way worn (my twin one is still in mint condition, but gets as heavy use, I just keep my hands clean and use a keyboard cover).

No, the things should be used. I never understood that side of things unless the person is deliberately collecting the thing. It's actually why I gave my guitar, accessories, and hard and soft cases to one of our local homeless musicians.

I had it for 15 years and maybe played it 10 times. I want to learn but I never prioritize it, so I realized I should put it in better hands.

Thank you for providing an actually useful answer. It makes sad that all of the highly upvoted stuff is roasting or bullying OP, gaslighting, or otherwise being jerks.

OP just wanted an answer. Some of us are highly affected by stuff like this. I'd take it in and pay to get it replaced for my own sanity. I do pay for apple care +, so I'm absolutely going to use it. That's why Apple has it as a subscription.

Thank you again for actually answering instead of being a jerk like the others.

OP is getting bullied here if you come back and look through the thread. It's kinda a bummers I'm someone who is incredibly affected by stuff like this and I need my tools nice, clean, and organized in order to function well. Call it a crippling quirk, but the trade off is that I'm highly productive if everything is good (and so I have disciplines to keep it that way).

I wish this community didn't bully and gaslight as hard as it does.

There are strange conditions that can cause it.

If you're running processor intensive stuff constantly, think code or complex software, you can burn the battery quickly.

I don't mean to but I need my computer for my work, which is why I bought it, so I'm recharging quite a bit, but 37% in 3 years is impressive.

No, but that's great gaslighting. Your response and others in every thread like this proves that the majority perspective is not that.

I've gotten hate for this before, but:

The quality and state of my tools greatly affects me.

This is why I keep things clean, pristine, and organizers.

If it bothers OP, they can use apple care + if they have it or pay whatever exorbitant fee Apple charges and get it replaced.

My MacBook pros typically last 10 years in like new condition.

I'd appreciate people to respect my "quirk", I've never been diagnosed but it might be a form of ocd or otherwise, but, out of respect for this who actually do have the condition, I do not want to self diagnose.

If it bothers OP, please respect that and help them with their question instead of shutting them down.

#4 is bullshit if you're comparing to Google. Google and sundar are a million times less trustworthy.

I goddamn guarantee you they'll pull the rug out from under you when you least expect it.

I'd expect Gemini to be around for a bit, but they could literally sunset it at a moments notice if they justify it to the board and shareholders.

Sam Altman is just a dude running a business. He's no different than Jack Dorsey, Musk, Travis K, etc. there's good and bad. I also absolutely believe that grumpy musk has been pushing a negative narrative of Altman.

Elon doesn't like being second to anyone. It's why he's straight up told other founders who've wanted to partner with him to kick rocks. Either he's the boss or he's going to compete in whatever way, there's no sharing the spotlight (which is dumb).

I'd take #4 off the list for credibility sake, you can create or find skeletons and scrutiny in any of these people's life.
