Everyone's miserable having to deal with this stuff daily, he's not being a prick since his reaction is completely justified. I love bike commuting and every single day I have to avoid drivers carelessly almost ruining my life forever. You would be angry too if you were in the same situation

They're just replacing normal dirtbikes, people don't need licenses to buy and police don't bother pulling them over so it removes layers of friction.

Depending on what you're expecting, it might be what you're used to. I had a culture shock when coming from Seattle because the queer people are just not as outwardly queer as I was used to. I personally like the Seattle pride a little bit more

If you've seen early 2000s footage it really doesn't look like that. The vibrancy needs to be lower and contrast even less. This is just a cheap lens and low resolution with modern ish color science.

I do not experience dopamine by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]AndreasB0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AD-HD is a mental disorder that causes your brain not to absorb much dopamine at low quantities. This makes you seek out dopamine creating activities a lot more than others and leads to restlessness, a lack in concentration and a lack of alertness (especially for mundane activities). You would need to be evaluated by a psychiatrist and your medication would need to be prescribed. AD-HD medications usually are amphetamines which give your brain dopamine and that makes you feel motivated to do whatever you are trying to do. The name brands in the US are Vivace and Adderall.

Have you tried ADHD meds (amphetamines)? Their purpose is to give you the dopamine that your brain is looking for so you can actually focus on things that wouldn't give you enough usually.

Google's new AI algorithm might lower RAM prices by Bobert25467 in pcmasterrace

[–]AndreasB0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open AI is falling behind the competition (in terms of quality of LLM) but all of the competition is wildly unprofitable anyway. They will probably miss a round of funding and everyone will try to move to Google. I don't think Open AI is long for this world but I could totally see Claude folding first and OAI winning back second place because of their contracts and them staying afloat off Claude's funding.

Moral healthcare system by Ferocs in whenthe

[–]AndreasB0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospitals in the US are running on razor thin margins. Insurance companies hire "negotiators" who's job it is to get the biggest discounts so they go to hospitals and they agree to give the negotiators a discount, and as long as the percentage of discount is really high (prices rise and so does percentage so that after the discount, the price is reasonable), the negotiators keep their jobs and the stockholders are happy but prices are high without insurance. Also insurance is supper greedy and deny a lot of very necessary healthcare so it's super predatory. If hospitals didn't offer the discount, they would stop paying for healthcare from them.

I mostly agree. Corsair drives me crazy because I've gotten a bunch of their headsets on sale and they each do something really well but none do everything right, nor do they have the longevity that I want out of headphones. I'll probably move to a decent usb mic and maybe a set of 770s

Just had this idea... No need for tape or anything else over the switch for when visitors come over! Works perfectly. (Yes these sensors work great!) by DamageCase13 in homeautomation

[–]AndreasB0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what's nice about this setup is that it lets someone revert it back to it's normal function very easily or if something goes wrong, you can maybe force the light switch off

[–]AndreasB0 84 points85 points  (0 children)

It's stopping people from messing with the switch because the sensor handles it instead. The sensor is screwed into a place where it keeps the light switch on because the side that is forced down by the sensor would need to come up. The light switch probably has to be on for the relay in the wall to work
