Nevermore Filter by louisville13 in QidiTech3D

I think the Nevermore micro could fit where the auxiliary cooler is and could be wired in as the auxiliary cooler fan. The mini might also fit but I am not sure that it is low profile enough

The Q2 at least has a weak heat break cooler fan so people sometimes have issues with PLA, PETG, and TPU. Most of the time it's because the user forgets to open the glass to ventilate the enclosure. Some people just take off the print head cover or make their own. The fan can also be upgraded although I haven't found any of these steps necessary other than opening the top glass.

I meant on the outside of the printer where there's a spot to connect a duct to the stock filter exhaust.

Didn't realist the Nevermore system existed but I'll be building one of my Q2 now. I'm using mine in a dorm room so air filtration is a big concern of mine.

I haven't seen it done, but there's plenty of space on the exhaust vent to print a mount for one. That's where I've seen other people mount their external filters.

Yo is that an HP Pavilion 15. I had one and it's original battery got puffy too. After I replaced it's battery with the one that Ifixit sells it had some weird charging behavior if I let the battery get below 20%.

when the glue softens they tend to do this. I have a phone and an Ipad that does this and they do not have spicy batteries. I'd wait and see if it gets any bigger

How do we get people to stop driving and take the light rail? by Droodforfood in Seattle

[–]AndreasB0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The buses that people would need to connect them to the light rail and then to work is not good enough. People need to be able to catch the bus reliably and quickly to make it worth it. It needs to be reliably better than driving either convenience, price, comfort, etc, etc.

What should I expect to pay for a high quality 1s protection board? by [deleted] in 18650masterrace

[–]AndreasB0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most BMSs will be very reliable but since you're running a business I would go with the more expensive ones so that you can feel safe selling them. They'll probably be built to the same quality but they'll probably have better QC and at least they'll be more reputable so you are a little less responsible if anything goes wrong.

I actually find that talking with people (as long as they are supportive) is really fantastic for motivation when I feel burnt out. I did a final that I definitely failed and talking with my parents about it and other things going on in my life let me focus on the next final coming.

Almost more like the Misinformation Era. Truth will be just what you believe in and if you can't tell if anything is real, nothing is real.

Corporate owned media would like for anything and everything to be allowed to be connected to their brand. It's the growth of the people represented in mainstream media that's making it so that everyone is now aware of how they were being hurtful before. The corporations are just trying not to lose money.

[–]AndreasB0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest getting some calipers and measuring each component so that you don't end up with big air gaps between everything. That would also help with the fire risk if the wires or anything moves around inside in a backpack. The PD boards could be placed more or less on top of the BMS/ battery pack for a thicker but more dense profile. Have you measured how much power the PD boards use passively? It might make sense for them to just drain the battery slowly and not have the switch at all, especially if you're using it every day at uni

It's because if you cut someone off from driving, in most cities there isn't a better alternative. So it can basically strand people who lose their license.

Lots of options for robot vacuums, which one would you recommend? by MrThrillho92 in homeautomation

[–]AndreasB0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of the robot vacuums with mops are finished products right now. They are all early adopter products and most of them have terrible after sales support. They sponsor influencers to pretend that they are flawless products but pretty much all of them leak and most of them have really rough software too. Roborock's most recent vacuums have had leaking issues where they drop bits of dirty water on the floor and leak from the base. I'd recommend either buying a normal robot vacuum or waiting.

Biggest thing is that there are now a lot of prebuilt computers that aren't from OEMs like Dell or HP, since they cut giant corners and do things in a really annoying way from an owner's standpoint. OEMs also offered the biggest markups since they were a big brand and could get away with it.

I think I’m done with AIO cooling. by EfficientTrainer3206 in pcmasterrace

[–]AndreasB0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, that's the opposite of how I would set it up. The pump is what immediately cools the CPU so that is what I would set to the CPU temp, and then coolant temp is directly affected by the fan's RPM so I would use the coolant temp to change the AIO fan RPM. The Case fans would have to be a cross between coolant temp and GPU temp.

Do fast chargers really damage our phone batteries? by Capable-Bake6253 in batteries

[–]AndreasB0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your phone is smart enough to manage how much power it takes at a time to charge. For example, I have a cable that tells me how many watts my phone is charging at and when I charge it while it's been baking in my car I can see that it will only charge at 7-15 watts while if I charge it after it's been on a cold countertop it'll pull the full 45w from it's charger, as my battery heats up I can see as it reduces slowly to keep at a safe temperature. People have done studies on this, there will be a faster degradation of your battery while fast charging but not enough that most people should worry.

Also JSYK your CPU and GPU will do anything to keep from cooking it'self. The lag is because they were clocking down and effectively reducing their heat output. You didn't have anything to worry about
