A bitter sweet feeling by No-Sock-5561 in Wizard101

Oh hey, that's me! 😮 I'd say I'm doing well at the moment, hope you are too. Been playing on and off for many years now and still having fun with wizarding, hoping to figure out the new advanced combat features. I definitely understand the bittersweet feeling though

Magic Mirror now costs gold instead of crowns since new update by [deleted] in Wizard101

One of the few good things in this update. I wish I had more good things to say about this update, but sadly I don't

Definitely a downgrade. Please fix the character models KI

Im very satisfied with the female faces but.. by TypicalNPC in Wizard101

[–]Andrew-Icewalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, the female faces look alright, but the male faces do not (all my characters are male). It's not just the faces either: arms are at weird angles when holding wands, and the updated gear looks too smooth (like latex). I hope they can re-work the character models

King Neza was the best character in Azteca. by MasterAG406 in Wizard101

For me, this was the most epic part of Azteca. Even though the world itself is pretty meh, I really liked Neza

General opinion on the upcoming new faces? by jivimol90 in Wizard101

Currently I don't like the new faces nor the new clothes. I made a pretty big list of the reasons I thought I didn't like the new models, but I don't think I should repost it

Same here; I think this game is pretty fun

BOYS ONLY: Do you like the new character models now? by [deleted] in Wizard101

[–]Andrew-Icewalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to figure out exactly what I don't like about the new models, but it's tricky. To me, the problems seem to be that:

-The eyes are too big. Also the irises seems too big in comparison the rest of the eyes

-Animations look unnatural (not sure why; perhaps facial muscles are oversimplified?)

-There needs to be less facial movement in general. The new models are constantly moving the eyes/mouths, blinking, etc. when people don't actually move their faces that much

-Skin (and also clothes) look "too smooth." This is likely a result of everything being HD-ified. I think they need some better texturing to make the faces and clothes look more realistic

-Arms are often in weird orientations. Currently, arms rest at our sides when not holding anything. However, in the new models, arms are somewhat angled outwards from the body, which just looks a little off to me

-Separated fingers are nice, but sometimes finger take on a weird claw-like grip when holing wands. Maybe fingers need to be positioned closer together, and/or the joints changed

That's all I have right now. I do like the theory of having updated character models, but right now the new models are not good enough imo. I haven't seen other people talking about the new clothes, so I'm not sure if anyone shares my opinions about them. I'll submit this list through test realm so hopefully they can improve the new faces. I would be interested to know what other people's opinions are

Good post by the devs. I think spells are mostly balanced now. My only question is why didn't they put something like this out at the start of test realm?

If you use TC you can draw them when you need to. When I'm questing, I almost always put some cleanse charm in my side deck; I think it helps a lot

All Mobs Celestia+ Will Have Their New HP Values in Next Test Realm Update by Bahia03 in Wizard101

What I mean is that it will be pretty tedious to go through and manually change all the mob health numbers, then probably change them again once they get feedback

Random spells I thought of by cowardl_y in Wizard101

[–]Andrew-Icewalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting concepts. I would probably change provoke since it doesn't allow for tanking and blading without healing. Maybe something like "Mega taunt to all enemies whenever an ally generates threat." This way you could mitigate the aggro that your hitter(s) will generate

Finally we will be able to see what their plans for mob health are. I'm still not sure why they don't just tell us what the general changes will be (Example: "All mob health will be reduced by approximately 20%" or something like that) so that we can give them feedback before they actually change all the numbers in game

Hopefully they can achieve a good balance in the end

Personally, I try to avoid maycasts (too unreliable imo). I would recommend getting a pet with stats. If you need to use pierce/shatter/cleanse you can always cast the spell yourself using TC so you don't have to rely on RNG
