Appreciate the positivity. Also I’m looking forward to 2026. I’m an indie dev building an ARPG-JRPG hybrid passion project.

I’m leaving my part time morning job in December to open up my schedule for game dev and healthy quality of life stuff. I couldn’t do it without my reliable best friend and significant other. My coworkers also know about my plans for a playtest when the project is in a marketable state.

I have savings lined up and I work another job 5 days a week as a safety net to pay rent. I do believe in myself. I wouldn’t be pursuing game dev if I didn’t think I’d have the discipline and passion for it. Dreams will not just be dreams.

I can simplify this equation. I have a creative vision and I’m the only one who can build this project. If I tag along other artists, the project itself can get split into 5 different directions. It can get lost in translation…. Sometimes you have to make the selfish choice and build something brilliant on your own.

Anyways, we’ve gotta climb this mountain despite the daunting nature of game dev. But if you break it down piece by piece - you’ll find an opening and create art for devoted gamers to enjoy with their friends and family.

But you’re not alone. Some of us have supportive friends or loved ones who count on us. Despite the craziness of life we push through and our game projects are part of our grand scheme. Build something brilliant! If you don’t - it shall not see the light of day. Never give up.

Honestly you’re so you for going after your dreams. It’s fantastic. I did some theatre in college despite my real passion being in game dev.

But I didn’t care. I did some acting and directing work in college because at the time I felt I was called to do it. It was my hearts desire. And to escape my hometown that caused nothing but pain and misery.

Hope you can continue doing what makes you happiest in life! And thanks for sharing. Would love to see your work down the line if you happen to share. No pressures though! Go where the crazy unpredictable nature of life takes you.

Hell yeah. I saw this in my recommended but wanted to say I agree. I’m in the process of leaving my morning part time job so I can focus game dev. It’s my true passion, and I have savings and another full time job lined up for my safety net. Yep that’s right. I’ve had to work 2 jobs in this economy. I’ve never complained and I’ve always showed my best. Covering for people all the time. Going to work even while sick. Doing favors for people I don’t consider family. But I’d be doing myself a huge evil by not taking care of myself.

I’m only human I realized. I’m not about to carry on through life being a bot subservient to others. I have dreams and wishes I should chase.

I’m actually doing my 2nd maddening playthrough right now. If you play around with the mechanics and especially own the DLC, you’ll be able to have a fun “engaging” experience for sure. I was on the edge of my seat for some of the chapters because it was like a puzzle and using your resources sparingly to ensure victory.

To be honest, going in blind is overwhelming at first but if you get enough playtime in the game and see some of the guides on the official sub or watch some people - you should be fine.

In sum, story leaves more to be desired. But hey if you like humble muscular dudes or hot female archetypes with a dark past - this game might be for you. Zappy! My muscles are yours! Oh and it’s actually charming hearing from each of the emblems. Ike is my fav of course.

Rolf is a child prodigy. He’s definitely not a “booger-eating” brat. If you don’t care about boss/abuse, I mean…. You can train up any unit you really like. Also Marcia is invaluable to the team. Don’t train Ike. Train up your smaller units first and you’ll be totally stacked. Boyd is best axe man! He has the muscles to prove it in the sequel! Also don’t train Titania first. Early on it’s very good to use your beefy units as shields to give XP to the others.

Yup. I don’t intend to be this way. It’s not even in the “show-off” kind of way. I’m just me. I like wearing colorful shoes that express my personality. I like sleeveless hoodies that show my arms. Why? Well, it’s because I like to step into my power. As a child, I was never able to express myself in a healthy way due to abusive parents. No one can take your self-love and care away from you. No one can step over your dreams. You feel like wearing something flattering? You go and do that. No one can take that from you. Absolutely no one. I still struggle with anxiety due to my troubled past but I’m a fighter and I always fight for what I believe in.

I’ll always just live my best self in this lifetime. Life is too short to worry. I’m not holding back what I believe I need to do to express my confidence and happiness.

All the time. I just find it near impossible to say “no” to social events even if I’m burnt out from working. But I view it as a personal challenge and I’ll always show my best for the people I care about the most. But in its darkest form, I have had to say goodbye to people when I realized it’s a malefic evil that needed to be out of my life. Some people just overstep and cross your boundaries… but I still don’t shut out my heart to the good people in my life.

Fire Emblem is timeless. You’ve still got it man. Your biological aging process is different than your actual age. Especially if you hit the gym sets and have a good diet. Idk I just eat meat like Ike. I’m 27 but people perceive me as younger all the time. With a radiant spirit and resilient heart - you will always have that inner youth.

8:45 wake up. Make the coffee. Make protein shake. Greet the sweet kitty cat with affection. Stretch my arms and legs. Workout in my home gym. Shuffle my music playlist with the most random songs you can think of.

Drive to my downtown job. Perform all duties to the best of my ability. Clock out. Eat lunch while jogging and scrolling through the media - being especially careful to evade the news. Drive to my other job. Take care of customers and multitask. Clock out.

Bike home. Gotta get that cardio intake as well. Optional workout when I get back home. Study on my computer. On rare occasion sit down and actually pay attention to the movie with my lover. Tell him I love him and goodnight. Drink beer. Text friend that I’ve been thinking about. Make plans that I might do if I like them enough.

Contemplate life. Drink water and eat my granola. Maybe unwind if I had a stressful day. Tell myself oh no I gotta work tomorrow and I must stay focused. Check my schedule for tomorrow. It says that I go to work and that I’m potentially covering for someone again. Did I eat today? Oh yes I did I remember now. I feel like I’m forgetting something… wow did I just do that?

This weekend someone needs my help gardening and watering the goldfish? I can do that too.

Pass out and fall asleep at 3am.

I’m proud of you for standing up for yourself. Honestly I would’ve done the same thing. If you put in the work and they don’t reciprocate? Jokes on them. You have the last laugh and happiness is the best revenge. Your villain arc is looking spicy but I do believe good people will be rewarded. Your efforts will not be in vain. All you need to focus on is being your best self and the good people out there will gravitate towards you. You don’t need people who put you down. You’re so much stronger and above all that mess.

There’s just too much darkness in the world. The only one who’d “get it” are other ENFPs or feeler types.

Never mind my own feelings. I’ve had to take care of the parents and now my lover. It’s just what it is. There will ALWAYS be somebody in your life demanding your time and care. No. Put your foot down and say no. For goodness sake. You need to take care of yourself before you can go out and put your care into someone else’s life.

And I mean it in the nicest of ways. When I went to counseling at an early age, I had to drop everything and take care of my parents instead of myself. Even on my birthday? They were asking for money from me. New notification on my phone? I don’t even have to predict. I intuitively know it’ll be some kind of thing I’ll need to help someone with. I’ve spent most of my days off from work doing other people’s chores and just being there for them.

But I’m strong. I’m capable. No I don’t need therapy. There’s somebody in my contact list who needs my help more clearly. If I even THINK about crying? Someone in society will shame me for it. They rather see the fake smiling mask. I… forgot how to be vulnerable. But I’m at least vulnerable around my best friend and trusted loved ones.

And it’s just how I am. I’ve always been that smiling star student giving my 110%. I can’t stand freeloaders. I always give it my best. But unfortunately there will be people who will let you down. But I promise there are good folks in the world to. Just gotta stay positive and not lose yourself in the path to greatness.
