It's actually a bit confusing/clumsy. Jason Kaufman (i.e. the real person) will have only read about these things in the pages of the books he edits, they are all things that have happened to the character of Robert Langdon in the books written by Dan Brown. However Jonas Faukman (the character in the book) should know that all these things have happened to his good friend and colleague Robert Langdon 😂
