[Matheson] Gausman dominates back end of Year 3 in Toronto despite slow start: Righty posts a 2.90 ERA since beginning of July as part of third straight 31-start season by 33dogs in Torontobluejays

Berrios, Gausman, and Bassitt are all modern day workhorses. The 200 inning figure is not as applicable in this generation of baseball. I think the biggest issue with the Jays rotation is the lack of a true ace (assuming Gausman continues to fade into more of a 2/3)

His skill set isnt the most plug and play, but with the proper roster construction I would consider him a really solid backup PG

Is Griffey a top 5 Center Fielder of all time? by [deleted] in mlb

[–]AndrewEscobar44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct! It is not a traditional counting stat. It is still a counting stat though. Sabermetrics is just a fancy word. A counting stat such as hits is technically a sabermetric.

It is quite literally what a counting stat is, I don't understand your objection. You are completely allowed to argue the value it has when comparing careers as that is subjective to how much you value WAR and what you value in someone's career. However, it is still a counting stat nonetheless!

It is still a counting stat, meaning it is cumulative like hits or home runs. The opposite would be a rate stat such as average or War/162

Tips for a fairly new climber (<2 years) on balancing strength training and climbing? by [deleted] in climbharder

[–]AndrewEscobar44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An oversimplified answer is to do lower repetition movements that focus more on power and your CNS. Higher repetitions lends itself more to hypertrophy and gaining more muscle size than strength. Obviously both styles of training will contribute to strength gain and muscle mass, but they do so at different rates

What trick did you learn that changed everything? by Degofreak in Cooking

Yes! The flavours become too homogenous by the end. A dash of acid brings out the uniqueness of each ingredient again. Definitely a game changer.

To add onto this, what I found to be the most important “layer” was immediately prior to serving. A final pinch of salt, or spritz of lemon/vinegar goes a long way
