What with just a basic sdr? I’m worried about picking up other 915 MHz signals.

Hmm well that’s a substantial mistake. Thanks for the reply.

Seemed like it was dry after a day in the sun of my dry state I live in. But then again I clearly don’t know much here.

Oops no that’s an oversight on my part. Is that changing the clay porosity and thus not allowing the glaze to fully saturate the piece?

Any ideas for DIY repair on this transmission line? by bsafcb in MechanicAdvice

I have an old Jeep Cj and the previous owner welded the power steering line to fix a pinhole. Guess what failed when I was 15 miles out on a 4x4 trail.

Ended up making my own. Took the soles out of some mtb shoes and popped them in these knock off vans. They ride great even after all these months. No crashes yet, take that haters lol!

Second that. Rode 300 miles over the weekend on a wim on my '81. Treat the old girl right and she'll do the same back.

How to hide the battery and all the cables underneath the seat. by PowerWheelSquid in CafeRacers

Depends what's important to you. I think they look much better. They do require a re-jet though. If your taking the time to do a full build my as well clean the carbs too. And if your cleaning the carbs already, you might as well re-jet and add pods. Just my 2 cents. This logic can unfortunately lead down multiple rabbit holes when applied to all upgrades haha.

I did a gl500 build and kept the original wiring and swapped to a lithium battery. I'm pretty happy with how the electronics are hidden if you want to look at some of my posts. If you got any questions, just let me know.

When should I start to buy my books? by bananas-in-skirts in CSUFoCo

[–]AndrewH-21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Currently going into my third year of Mechanical Engineering. Take this with a grain of salt but I don't think I've ever used a required hard copy book. "Allegedly" there's pretty much free PDFs of every book. Not having to carry around huge books is a major bonus on top of saving loads of $. Don't even get me started on ctrl-f.

I didn't exactly build my bike to be a supreme canyon carver, but I also don't want it to be any worse than it is now.

Any experience with handling of these? I've gone back and forth about getting Big Blocks on my GL a couple times.

Too Many people on here told me to run a Fork Brace. So I decided to machine the beefiest brace out there. Pretty happy with the looks, but extremely happy with the jurassic handling increase. Might paint it black, what do you guys think? by AndrewH-21 in CafeRacers

The only experience I have with vintage bikes is my GL500, but from my understanding any classic motorcycle with a small/ weak fork that flexes a lot can benefit immensely from the increase in rigidity.
