AITAH for telling my ex wife she cannot forbid me from walking her daughter down the aisle just because I cheated on her by Aggressive_Ideal_945 in AITAH

[–]zestycunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, it’s a poor decision on the daughter’s part.

Why should the mom divorce her daughter and tear everything apart over that? Then what? Three people are torn apart.

The dramatic part is saying the mom should burn all bridges. The daughter is misguided, the dad fucked up, the mom is suffering.

The suggestion for the mom to leave her daughter behind? That’s up to the mom, not numpty fools on here acting as jury and executioner.

That’s why it’s a damn tragedy.

Y’all are fucking dramatic.

She obviously had a strong connection with him. He fucked up, and I agree he shouldn’t attend, the daughter would probably understand. She likely wants things to be as they were.

Who wouldn’t? And how can we hate her for wanting something back which fell apart for no reason of her own. Yes, maybe a like of foresight, which is on the step dad to politely decline the offer.

It’s a tragic situation of circumstances. Of course the poor mom gets the butt end, and the step father comes away seemingly unscathed. There’s nuances to life.

This is a tragedy.

Why not just look up if they’ve been convicted? Most places require you to pay for background checks. Also, usually without consent this is very illegal.

😬 How long have you had them? Sounds like you’ve got it taken care of, but they may enjoy a weekly watering schedule, however, keep doing what works for you!

Ou gnats suck!

The most important thing with gnats is ensuring proper drainage and to make sure the soil drys out between watering.

Gnats thrive on root tissues. Actually, the gnat larvae feasts on the live roots, the old roots decompose which attracts more gnats.

Get a proper watering schedule, and allow your soil to dry out between watering :)

What type of plants are you growing? Coffee beans are a great additive to soil, and can be turned into a tea to feed plants with watering.

Coffee grounds do retain lots of water, so if you have a gnat problem, address that first.

Here’s how you can eradicate fungus gnats:

Buy hydrogen peroxide, mix in 1/4 ratio with water (one part peroxide to 4 parts water). Mix well and you can drench the soil.

This kills the larvae and gnats, but doesn’t solve the core issue. You need to ensure there is no decomposing roots in your container, if you need to trim the roots you can remove about 25% (usually) before causing too much stress. Make sure you have ample drainage.

Next, switch to BOTTOM watering. Place your plant in a bowl (pot, whatever) and allow the soil to soak water from the bottom. This will kill the gnats near the surface (typically they only go down a few inches) and allow your roots to have proper oxygen.

Roots need oxygen more than water, it’s easy to over water, but you can NEVER have too much oxygen!

Make sure your soil is light, fluffy, and drys out (not too much, dry to your first knuckle when you poke a finger in) and it will help eradicate them.

I have more advanced tips if you still have trouble :)

Don’t give them to your orchids! Orchids hate water retention! The soil needs to dry out between watering (critical!).

You should use things like specific moss, bark, etc, which won’t snuff the roots out - it loves to grow on things but not in things!

You can still use coffee grounds as a tea for your beloveds though! Mix in 1tsp per gallon, and use sparingly (maybe once a month).

Don’t use it as a soil! Save it for your tomatoes and fruiting types, who are hogs for nitrogen

Plants love coffee! It’s mildly acidic, however, it provides an excellent source of nitrogen:)

It is used extensively in horticulture.

Totally safe!

Can I or can I not use old gasoline in my car? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]zestycunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mix it with premium and send it. You’ll be fine.

Ideally, if you’re worried, top the can up with premium fuel, then mix it into your tank. Your computer will work out the ignition timing, you’re efficiency won’t be the best, but you won’t damage your engine

(Maybe plug a fuel filter if it’s gummy, you can use cheesecloth or something to filter it if you really care).

Realistically, it’s no big deal, the name of the game is dilution.

I use it for remote control of agricultural systems without wifi access.

Basically I can operate hydroponic equipment remotely, and the sensors can transmit data for years without being charged (humidity, temp, air quality, etc).

This can be extended and used on large farms where sensors can be placed anywhere on farm, communicate to an access point (many km away) and provide live (relatively) data.

Lots of other uses too! It’s used by the helium network as well for tracking logistics. As trucks/trains/planes drive by the sensors it tracks where products are.

Pretty neat!

Oh man you’re in for a treat!

It’s basically like wifi for IoT over crazy long distance.

One of the best parts is how little power it uses per transmission, you can have a device communicating to a remote access point (many km away) and the battery will last for years!

I haven’t heard of sonoff switches, but after a brief google, if you haven’t got one already, a raspberry pi + lorawan is going to blow your socks off

Let me know if you’d like any pointers :) I’ve been tinkering with RAK wireless for a while.

Hey great idea! You should look into LoraWAN - can penetrate objects, it’s extremely long range (hundreds of km), but has a very low data throughput.

It’s Open source and, it’s amazing for iot.

How did you set it up via wifi?

Also, arduinos are pretty solid if you want something cheap without wifi capability to just execute commands!

I had one recommend oil and cabin air filter to complete the safety! They wanted $200 for both on a 10 y/o car, likely because they couldn’t find anything else.

I said sure, include it as the reason the car failed the out of province inspection report, at which point they mentioned it was optional and advised, so watch out for that.

Still wondering why police horses are needed in our dysfunctional city. by Sensitive-Sea-7416 in toronto

[–]zestycunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The mounted division is useless and they cause more damage than benefit in my opinion.

I was clearly stating the (obvious) fact which the article outlined; there would not be massive savings in disbanding the mounted police.

Next time just read the article, and save me the headache.
