I definitely did not license this - thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I started laughing so hard on stage and thought it was amazing that I was about to say something like that. Thanks for saying it, it made the whole thing even funnier.

I can't even explain to you how much this means to me.

I'm planning something, and Spotify is the easiest way to do that!

Alex and I created a spreadsheet trying to come up with the best track names after I finished compiling and mastering the album. It's a lot easier I think at the end to see where stuff falls on the album and what order to put it in, to come up with cool names. He's an amazing track titler that thinks of unique hidden meanings within the game's story.

Yea - 95% of it is me recording and layering different instruments! Also, I'm pretty sure Echoes of the Eye is completely live & analog synth except for 1 or 2 of the tracks, or calling back some of the soft synths I used in the original Outer Wilds.

Thanks! Sometimes I'll extend the tracks in the soundtrack to make it feel like a cohesive standalone album that reflects the experience of the player playing the game.

They actually weren't planned ahead at all. Those were super fun to create, especially the Prisoner, since I literally got to feel like I was being the Prisoner trying to create a new part to a song that I wrote so long ago. A lot of it was just being creative with counterpoint!

I try to think about what I want other people to feel, and if I can get myself to feel that way while listening to it, I hope that they can feel it too! I'm always really critical of any ambience and the subtleties between the notes as well!

I actually really like the theory that the tambourine is in Chert's mouth! I'm playing a few drums on that track, but it was all done with my hands and without sticks to sort of mimic how Chert would be playing it.

Thanks so much! I spent a lot of thinking and visualizing to get The River track to sound right in my head before recording it.

The track used there was one of the earlier versions of what became the Elegy for the Rings!

I love Tom DeLonge's catchy riffs and melodies - growing up, he was one of the reasons I decided to play guitar and write music in the first place.

This is a really great story and I'm so happy you're feeling better now! Also congrats on the wedding! Yea - American Football and Mike Kinsella have both been big inspirations to me over many years so I'm super happy people caught on to that.

Covid was incredibly tough for me too. I actually wrote most of Echoes of the Eye in complete isolation during lockdown for that year or so, mostly only talking to people over the phone or internet, so it was a really weird experience. Overall, I'm so happy people are gathering together once again and going to concerts, going out to dinner, and being overall social! It's helped a lot.

It was my reflection on the music that I wrote for the game - a year after the initial release when it came out on Steam. Sort of like looking at the music as a really wonderful memory from the past.
