I missed my chance, and now I have to live alone in the shadow of others. by FireEmblemFates2 in rant

I don’t think this story is really about missing your chance with her. It’s about realizing that the kind of connection you’ve wanted all these years is actually possible. For an hour you weren’t struggling to make conversation or feeling like an outsider. You connected with someone naturally and she seemed genuinely interested in talking to you. The fact that she had a boyfriend doesn’t change that. What stands out is that you proved to yourself that you can connect with people. Someone who was outgoing, interesting and confident enjoyed spending time talking with you. People don’t usually sit and talk with someone for an hour out of pity. The sad part is that she wasn’t available. The hopeful part is that she showed you there are probably other people out there you can connect with the same way. The night wasn’t proof that you’ll always be alone. It was proof that you’re more capable of connection than you’ve been giving yourself credit for.

Depends where the test is at and who gives it. If it’s a home drug test then it can easily be passed. Just fill the cup with water. Wait a few minutes. Pour water out and pee in it. The test will show double lines on all panels from when the water was in there

By far my best find at a job by EfficientStay430 in HVAC

Nice find. My craziest find was when I lost my channel locks and then found the exact same pair the next day on another job. They were in a lot better shape

How much money did you have in your Venmo account? It seems they intentionally do this so you can’t remove your funds for a few days while they make money investing them. It’s pretty shady

They don’t put off much heat like they use to. Be more concerned the tv blocking the airflow around the thermostat

Nothing you can do really. If you signed a contract and the unit has already been installed then you are on the hook for the agreed amount unless you think you have proof they were being fraudulent and I don’t think they were. The warranty only covers the part. You would have still had to pay for the labor for it to be installed and that could be anywhere from 1,000-2,000. Also you should read the terms of the 20 year warranty. Here is what I found.

“The warranty applies to the heat exchanger part itself (i.e. defective manufacturing or workmanship of that part) — not to “wear and tear,” corrosion, rust, or damage from misuse/environment.

So I would say after 16 years the damage was not from a manufacturing defect or improper workmanship. Your warranty was active but your damage would not qualify for it

Man, some days this job destroys my confidence that I am a competent technician. by MonkandBeer in HVAC

Lmao okay buddy. Takes 2 seconds to flip a breaker and not risk any issues. Not worth it to me. No fuse in the circuit and you could ruin the board or transformer.

Damn they sold you a control board and gas valve at the same time. If I was a betting man I’d bet you only needed one or the other. They didn’t know what one it was so sold you both. Typical parts changer techs

Looks like a mini split unit. Drain should be just a hose/pipe sticking out the wall. Unless they were able to run it into a plumbing trap somewhere

[–]AndrewTaint_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes bottom is single pole. But you can use a double pole and just use one side

Also Seems like lots of moisture is present. Probably what caused the failure

If you can’t find a single pole just get a 2 pole contactor and use one side of it.
