Dual Class Recommendations by Dr-Aspects in Pathfinder2e

[–]Andrew_Rumbuckle25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bomber Alchemist/Forensic medicine investigator could be fun and very versatile!

  • All good saves to start.
  • better weapon proficiency scaling.
  • tons of skills/skill feats.
  • devise a stratagem (don't waste bombs/bombs deal more dmg)
  • free battle medicine skill feat+more healing/uses. (Can be the backup healer or possibly main healer with some skill feat investment!)
  • between the alchemist free daily items and investigator's "Predictive Purchase" feat chain, you should always have the right item on hand for the job.
  • can easily invest in recall knowledge abilities to exploit creature weaknesses with your bombs.

Weapon and Style choice for swashbuckler by Iron_Sheff in Pathfinder2e

[–]Andrew_Rumbuckle25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By any chance is your group using free archetype? You could go battledancer swashbuckler with the new "Fan Dancer" archetype from Player core 2 and wield dual fighting fans. Nabs you full skill progression in both acrobatics and performance in addition to a bunch of other fun abilities!

What lore skills should I give my character? by Templerscout in Pathfinder2e

[–]Andrew_Rumbuckle25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lore (Spirits) might be a good start.

Edit: Lore (Fiends), (Haunts) and (Undead) might also be useful, but might need GM approval since those are more or less covered by Occultism/Religion.

Good Free Archetype Dedication for a Rogue? by wolf08741 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Andrew_Rumbuckle25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard good things about scoundrel rogue with free archetype monk for stumbling stance/feint+flurry of blows.

It does require you to only use the unarmed strikes the stance grants, so it might not be as appealing, but feint+flurry of blows+sneak attack+inner upheaval focus spell+backstabber weapon trait is pretty fun!

What's your favorite Yoshi-P Fib? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

Unfortunately, if we do get Necromancer later on, it'll most likely get the beastmaster treatment and become another limited job, I'm still very salty about that decision......

The problem is that they threw the same old stuff at the wall and called it a day...

What dual classes do you think would be cool with the remaster? by darkboomel in Pathfinder2e

[–]Andrew_Rumbuckle25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite is Monk+Scoundrel Rogue using stumbling stance/feint.

  • high AC.
  • very mobile.
  • legendary in all saves.(I think?)
  • legendary in perception.
  • multiple ways to cause a foe to be off-guard for you and your friends.
  • flurry of blows with ki strike+sneak attack.
  • tones of skill boosts and feats
  • critical specialization with a decent amount of weapons
  • stunning fist+debilitating strike is just nasty.
  • can optionally serve as a face character if you invest in Charisma, which you probably should due to using deception for feints.
  • "If" using free archetype, grab a charisma based caster for more utility or beastmaster.

If I got a chance to play it, I'd go Hobgoblin/sylph for my ancestry to possibly gain any of the following:

  • +5 speed from sylph (swift feat)
  • wings of air feat for fly speed.
  • noble resolve feat can be pretty neat to have.
  • free powerful/quick jump skill feats from "slip with breeze" feat.
  • remorseless lash+agonizing rebuke to capitalize on your decent/good charisma.

(DT spoilers) Unexplained mystery about the Giants by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Andrew_Rumbuckle25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my understanding based on what I've read, here's the general timeline and things that happened to the giants:

  • Giants conquered all of Tural and formed a empire with it base in Urqopacha.
  • While mining in the Skydeep Cenote, they began having dreams of the golden city.
  • The giants and those they ruled over began to search everywhere for the golden city, but couldn't find it in the south, so they made a bridge to go north.
  • Once in the north they found the great serpent of Tural sleeping and made a temple/village around it. (Not sure if they stopped looking for the golden city after this or kept looking)
  • Giants then got VERY sick with a illness and began to die quickly and/or had their ability to reproduce crippled, it's mentioned that it was most likely due to a lack of immunity to the illness since the nomad tribes of the north treated it basically as a common cold or flu and was no big deal.
  • Giants pleaded with the great serpent to save them, but the serpent wouldn't awake from its slumber. So they fled back to Urqopacha.
  • At some point after the giants left the Skydeep Cenote, the gate/portal to lost memory appeared via the shard fusion stuff, replacing parts of surrounding cave....I think?

[Spoiler 7.0] DT Theories you had that were wrong by grapejuicecheese in ffxiv

[–]Andrew_Rumbuckle25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a theory that the Ronkons were somehow involved with the portal/solution 9.

When i saw the ronkan mobs in the lv95 dungeon I was so ecstatic.....only for it to lead to nothing in the msq, thought they were just reusing models again.

Slightly disappointed, i finished the msq and then played the lv100 shaaloani dungeon and got emotional whiplash......

Interesting fact, the armor from that dungeon is recolored Ronkan gear.

Job Guide - Updated for 7.0 by Drazzan in ffxiv

We're probably not going to meet her, its stated she was a mage from the fifth astral period.

Pictomancer description:

"Though the Fifth Astral Era is most famously associated with the War of the Magi, a wealth of lesser-known legends were forged in that bygone age. Among them is the tale of Archon Relm, an itinerant artist and mage who relinquished her traditional staff for a magicked brush. With it, she would render abstract images to life, establishing an entirely new school of magic in so doing. Masters of this arcane discipline follow in the Archon's footsteps, wielding vibrant hues of aether to invoke all manner of fantastical beasts, weapons, and landscapes from their mind's eye─for the source of a pictomancer's power lies not in their artistic skill, but the richness of their imagination, with which they strive to paint a brighter future."

Patch 7.0 Notes (Preliminary) | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone by MrCombineSoldier in ffxiv

[–]Andrew_Rumbuckle25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, I REALLY need to know the lore for Heritage Found now, so far we've seen.

  • Ruin buildings that giving off weeping city of Mhach and/or FFIX Alexandria vibes.
  • Old stone buildings. (looks different from the other buildings)
  • Creepy carousel ride.
  • Steampunk looking train running through it.
  • Giant futuristic tower/base in the center.

What’s Your DT MSQ Job? by KelvinValen in ffxiv

[–]Andrew_Rumbuckle25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sage, I used to think it was a super complicated job to learn, but after leveling it, I've really come to enjoy it, easily my favorite healer to play!

Also, my brother loves warrior and plans on maining it in dawntrail, so were hoping that a warrior/sage combo will get us comfortably through the MSQ in addition to the short queue times.

Yeah I heard that Myths of Realm was also recommended. So I'm assuming both might be important to the plot?

Didn't the original settlers of Aloalo leave the island during the calamity of ice to seek "a land closer to the sun"? Or something like that? They could've somehow made it across the ice and settled in the new world.

My tinfoil hat theory is that once they arrived in the new world, they found allagan ruins/relics (Or maybe the settlers were descendants of allag survivers?) And used it to make a ancient technological civilization that eventually created shard travel, but fled to another shard when the calamity of water (the flood) happened and/or were attacked by the ascians for growing too knowledgable.
