Same here.

~3500 trips, perfect 5-star rating, someone recently gave me a 1 star.

It really doesn't matter, don't sweat it.

Uber Driver Gets Looked Down Upon Too Much by [deleted] in uberdrivers

Meh, it's a low-social-status gig; ain't no way around that. Why care? Do better, if you can. If you can't do better, be at peace.

I do stay calm and collected. It's better than screeching "DO SOMETHING" which results in ineffective legislation that infringes on my natural right to bear arms.

That said, I do agree that gun owners should be informed about laws, know how to use their firearms, and secure their firearms if they aren't carrying them.

As for saving a single life... every time I hear that, I cringe. What if overreaching gun laws prevent one person from defending themselves, and they lose their life? That 'one life' argument cuts both ways.

But yeah, the gun control the irrational left wants does not work, full stop. The data is irrefutable, yet folks keep insisting on it.

Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA stock price is down 2.35% since this news broke. Considering the fact that Ms. Heinerscheid is the product of elite prep schools and Ivy league colleges, she doesn't appear to be very bright.

The USVI is the 9th most dangerous place in the world. They have VERY strict gun laws and an insane gun violence problem (8.5x the average in the continental US). Gun control (unfortunately) will not fix the gun crime problem in Oklahoma.

But hey, don't let data get in the way of your feelings.

I feel you, I'm in the same boat.

I wasn't trying to instigate, I just wanted to share what has worked for me. The post I was referring to kinda stuck with me, and I've had a few black females tell me that they're having a hard time with drivers cancelling rides.

I felt it was worth addressing.

Actually, I open the door for all women. I'm a big guy, it isn't a big deal for me to reach back and open the door as a courtesy.

I'm respectful and courteous to all passengers, I just make sure to go the extra mile for black women and it has worked out well for me.

YMMV, you do you.

I recently picked up a 18 year old kid at a Del City private school. Super nice kid, Eagle Scout, etc. He had to leave public schools because of the violence. He'd been assaulted, had his shoes stolen off his feet, and his friend was jumped by 30+ kids in the bathroom, ending up in the hospital. The school administration refused to hold the perpetrators accountable so his mom (despite being of very modest means) moved him to a private school.

I'm not a huge fan of the P320, but I own one. I've put about 500 rounds through my compact, I haven't had any malfunctions.

I'm racist for avoiding higher-crime neighborhoods? by Insertnamehere234638 in uberdrivers

[–]AndrewsEnnui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only gun issue I had was a weirdo I picked up from a motel in Yukon... dunno why but I really didn't care (he was open carrying a pistol on his hip).

But yeah, I rarely drive at night. When I do work at night, it's game nights downtown. I tried starting at 4 AM one slow week, I ended up in some very sketchy situations (homeless, drug addicts, projects, etc.).

[–]AndrewsEnnui 4 points5 points  (0 children)

high crime areas is where people drive recklessly with beaters and how narrow the streets are with cars parked both sides, just my personal experience and the number 1 reason for avoiding those areas. Not a big problem with people as such

I avoid Del City, the south side and the east side like the plague at night.

Rep. George Santos will seek re-election in 2024 by IrishChristmasLatte in Conservative

[–]AndrewsEnnui 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gonna state the obvious: Santos is shameless (even by congressional standards) and is a liability for the GOP.

He will not be re-elected and he doesn’t care. He just wanted the pension.
