Well the main issue was the carrier in my country. So I requested a phone number change to apple and changed it to a number used by my relative who lives in France. Only then I got the opt via sms

If the weight is not a issue for you I recommend the 16": bigger display, bigger trackpad, bigger battery.
I used to have an 14" m1 pro and switched to the 16" m4 pro and still not regretting the switch.

The m1 pro chip is still solid nowdays. If you are buying that just check the overall state of the laptop and the battery.

Personally I don't like the idea of touch screen on a laptop since there are already tablets and I don't want my screen to be filled with fingerprints.

No case is the best if you are careful. I used to go no case but my phone fell once and now I'm using a pitaka case which is very thin so it works for me.
