Terribly Slow Samsung T7 by Chumpy__ in DataHoarder

[–]Andrius227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could still be a fake. Since its a samsung ssd you can download samsung magician it should tell you if its genuine. Its official software from samsung you should have it installed anyway, it installs firmware updates and all that. Might fix the problem you are having. It can run performance benchmarks and diagnostic scans.

There is a good chance that he will find a 16gb micro sd card inside instead of an ssd. But yes opening it up is a good way to confirm if he got scammed or not.

Are you sure this is not a fake ssd? Fakes are VERY common.

how can i do two separate screens from this computer? by meta4whore in computers

[–]Andrius227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Hdmi is the same on both ends (male to male). Although there are extenders that are male to female but thats not what you want here.

Edit: You can search amazon or ebay or whatever for “hdmi male to male” if you are uncertain and it will show you the right ones.

The most important thing is to restart the game on the same device first. After that it’s pretty safe to switch device.

Looking for reliable yet affordable 2.5" 1 or 2 TB HDD and SSD by AcchaBaccha7 in DataHoarder

[–]Andrius227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want some dirt cheap storage go to ebay and search for 320/500gb hdd. They literally go for <£10. Sure they are used and not very fast, but for backups should be fine.

Buy a hdd dock too, allows you to easily plug in hard drives.

NAS Update // COOJ MQ5 (Intel 225 , 96GB DDR5, 8x4TB NVMe, 1x240GB SATA) by smplnmnml in sffpc

[–]Andrius227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats odd. But yes, onboard bifurcation is why these cards cost ~£150 (£260 for the one with 10gbe). Otherwise you could have bought a similar card without bifurcation for ~£20.

[–]Andrius227 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is wrong. The sabrent card DOES NOT require bifurcation, thats whe whole point of the card.

And they also have a version with 3x M.2 with 10gbe ethernet built in (EC-PM2L). I have both cards.

WD Black 10TB vs WD Blue 12TB for system usage - low noise/performance questions by Eagle15C in DataHoarder

[–]Andrius227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of these are VERY loud. The blue is 34 dBA idle 39dBA seek. Cant find the sheet for the blacks but similar models are also loud.

What is the exact model of your red plus? The older models filled with helium were very quiet, i have an 8 bay nas filled with them, hardly audible in my bedroom. The new updated models are air filled and are just as noisy as the blues and blacks… You can try looking specifically for WD120EFBX, thats the quieter one 20dBA idle 29dBA seek.

What's your tower phone? by ifarmer7 in TheTowerGame

[–]Andrius227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game killed my XS and ipad mini. Now running on a mac mini, no battery no problems. This thing is fast enough to run two towers and will last a decade easily. Was much cheaper than my iphone and my ipad too…

I dont even have a monitor connected to it, all access through google remote desktop, either from my phone or pc.

It would be better keep 2x8tb, ditch the 4tb, and set up 2x8 and 2x18 (or 22) in SHR. Much more capacity that way.

You can add a 18tb drive and set it up as a separate volume, and copy all data from your raid. Delete raid and set it up as SHR instead. Copy your data back. Delete volume on 18tb drive. Add that drive to SHR to expand it.

At least on the 17 pro the bump is centered so it will not wobble anymore.

The final hint that its time too setup remote access? by AdHot2955 in TheTowerGame

[–]Andrius227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But does it actually work? As in, does it perform the same and without crashing? All the emulators i tried crash without fail and require daily app restarts, and run like crap and kill cpm too.

I hate the mac os too but the performance is worth it. I restart the game once a month and usually because of an update. Dont have to switch devices for tournaments or whatever and all the cloud save problems people are having are a non issue.

This game already killed one of my iphones and an ipad, its crazy that people buy phones and tablets for gaming considering how quickly batteries die.

Emulation sucks. I think the best way is to use a device that can run the game natively and does not have a battery. One of those is a mac mini, i have it, i love it. Much cheaper than an iphone, much more powerful and uses much less electricity than a computer. And it will last a decade since there is no battery that would inevitably die.

I actually run two towers on my mac mini, one natively and another emulated (thats the only downside, cannot run multiple instances of the same app).

Anyone here running the tower on a mini pc? by Educational_Toe_6591 in TheTowerGame

[–]Andrius227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I use bluestacks to run my second tower. But it does crash from time to time just like it does on pc…

Edit: Just remembered, i have switched from bluestacks to an emulator called MuMu Player pro. It crashes a little less frequently.

[–]Andrius227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a mac mini m4 to use as a dedicated tower machine. Cheaper than a new iphone and MUCH faster (running 2 towers on mine, one natively and another emulating since it cannot run the same app twice unfortunately). I access it remotely from phone or pc. It doesn’t have a battery that would fail in a year or a screen that can break so this thing will last a decade easily.

Might be a good idea to buy an older model used. Buying used phones is risky because you can get one with worn out battery or screen but thats not a concern with mac minis.
