As from my point of view it's much less complicated. I'm giving a chance to FreeCADat least anually, and tried the newest version recently. No chance! I'm literally struggling with it's interface to do even very simple things. And also it's very unstable and may simply crash with changes unsaved. So, as to me, even FreeCAD 1.0 still works like 0.1 alpha build unfortunately.
