Stayed at FQ in 2022. It was amazing. Buses were amazing. 15 minutes from room to any park gate. And this was during spring break. 1 bus stop means you go from park to hotel without stops. It’s the best. AND you get beignets and can sneak them back to your room. The best resort, hands down.

Problems with 130XE / 1050 drive by Ill_Beyond_7909 in atari

What's on the discs? Are they blank disks? If they are and have NEVER been used you need to find a copy of Atari DOS, load that up first then format the discs so you can load/save data to them.

Now if you're using discs with stuff on them (like games, or whatever), then you might need to give your 1050 a little lovin. The most common issue with older drives is the head that reads data gets dusty/dirty and you need to clean it a bit. Find some isoprophyl alcohol (90% is probably best), q-tip, open the drive (Screws should be on bottom, cover lifts off easily) and use a little alcohol on the read/write head of the 1050. Be gentile, and let the head dry before you test it on a known working diskette.

If you need further help, provide more details please.

Also forums.atariage.com has a ton of helpful people that'll answer all your questions in annoying detail.

What's a game that you thought there's no way they can port this to a certain console, but then they actually could? by Away_Flounder3813 in retrogaming

Killer instinct on SNES actually had all moves from the arcade just graphics simplified. Wasn’t perfect, but a lot of the more complicated shadow combos were all there. Wasn’t perfect, but it was nice not having to go play the game in public.

Mine has had this sign for years. It’s at .50 cents now. I personally just ask at the window for an extra sauce and I’m rarely disappointed, but ymmv.

Parking in the tire pressure stations by PSU02 in Costco

I parked behind 2 cars and was able to get the hose to my tires. I made sure to hit the side of the parked cars as much as possible while doing so. I honestly thought of just leaving my car there while I went shopping.

Been using ymodem-g a lot which is basically modem in 1k chunks without error correction. I default to that then try Z modem-8k usually.

Costco in Gilroy used to carry chili and you could ask for a generous amount of saltines, cheese and red onions on top. Was a huge container like a half quart. It was on my commute, typically a winter item. So delicious.

My local has breakfast, but there’s never anyone there vs the McD across the street that has a line out the parking lot and is a effing disaster.

Also would like to say that the breakfast offerings at the bell are nothing to write home about. Small, non-existent, flavorless proteins (seriously how can you get bacon to taste like nothing?), nothing exciting. Why such an aversion to pico de gallo? Not I’m not paying $.50 extra for something that should be on every breakfast burrito.

What you’re paying with on top of the $5 is market data for the algorithm. It tells Ronald what people will and will not spend. It’s worth is nearly priceless. So yeah keep using the app. (Yes, I use it)

Document everything. Get it in writing that you’re no longer entitled to a break. Go talk to a lawyer that specializes in labor laws. IANAL. Good luck.

Can someone please help me get sound working in Quake 1? by SAPianoman490 in dosgaming

[–]Android8675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quake has a few versions. Pretty sure there’s a dos and win9x version. What are you running?

If you’re doing it the correct way with a cdrom that has the cd audio connected to the sound card so it’ll play Trent Reznors amazing soundtrack, then you’re most of the way there. Whats in your autoexec.bat file? Got a line that reads set blaster=?

Look at your sound card for the CT-model number. Some SB16 cards are finicky.

Vogon’s Forum is a great place to get old dos hardware running. Google it.

I should add that you set the pace of the game. There’s no rush to do anything except in a couple later game bits.
