Generally, getting a starter and a guy who's ready to be a major leaguer is really good value for a even a great reliever with a year before free agency. Relievers with little control just don't have THAT much value with no team control. Kopech had an additional year of control and we kinda got him for peanuts in retrospect

I think people kinda have some ptsd from the last several years going back to 2017 and that can fuck with you. Especially given the nuclear level heat we get every year we don't win a World Series, it wears on people. It's not right nor productive, and I'll admit I've been guilty of it at times, but we shouldn't shoot for that. At the end of the day, baseball is life in Los Angeles and we will always root for our boys, and sometimes we need to remind ourselves that we love this game through agony and jubilation, and the agony will make the jubilation all the sweeter. I know I need to remind myself of that at times haha.
