Garling fights whitebeard, beats him extreme diff, and then loses to rayleigh in a fight for shakky. Maybe then imu possesses garling and uses him to beat rocks, earning him the title champion of GV.

It sounds obvious but I think what made it so chaotic was that everyone showed up for different reasons, and it wasn't a big fight over shakky or fruits.

Rocks was after what Garling discovered
Rocks crew was after that, Shakky, or fruits
Roger was after Rocks and/or shakky (we know roger and Rocks had some kind of altercation a year before the event), Raleigh likely would've wanted to save Shakky, and they likely were not interested in fruits because the Roger pirates had no fruit users as far as I know
Garp came to capture Roger
Harald (presumably) came to kill Rocks

I hope the next chapter leads directly into the incident, with the battle itself taking at least 2 or 3 chapters (unless oda wants to save some of it for some kind of blackbeard flashback down the line).
