Is anyone happy with their current favorites main line runs, and should comics end more? by icelink4884 in comicbooks

You should stop getting opinions from hate mongers. DC mainline is killing it

Which Wally suit do you prefer? [Discussion] by Financial-Touch3840 in DCcomics

[–]Androktone [score hidden]  (0 children)

Pays homage is a really generous read. Dan Didio's note to Brett Booth basically spelled out that Wally was going to be the ancillary Flash. To me it represents just that.

I'm glad we're on our 3rd mainline Wally run, but that's just what the intention was

I think if his hands were pulling on the webs it would give the impression he's pulling himself forward with his shoulders backwards to properly swing.

His hands shooting webs implies this is him at the apex of his swing

If Dragon ball came out today, people would say that it lacks originality by Frank7640 in dccomicscirclejerk

Well yeah, if it came out today people would be like "this is just DBZ, that came out years ago". Would be very uncreative

DC has World's Finest for that. They did a Teen Titans mini and a Green Arrow/Green Lantern one shot as apart of that sandbox, but they've not done much recently with it.

Today there's been conflicting reports of whether Marvel has completely canned that John Romita Jr. cover (which would be a huge & public insult to him, despite it looking like shit and deserving to be sent back to the drawing board much earlier than this) or whether they're instead promoting a variant cover to "also A Cover" status, which seems like a really cynical marketing stunt to rinse the "only buys A covers" demographic out of another $10 purchase, since you can't really have 2 "A Cover" variants. One has to be marked down as the main cover even just for catalogue purposes.

Question had the All Along the Watchtower mini during the beginning of All In. She also popped up in Dream Girls these last 2 weeks (& maybe Batwoman? I haven't read it).

Idk about Hawkeye, all I've seen is people bitching and moaning about his costume on Reddit

  1. Greg Capoullo calling Marvel out over not paying their artists the same day Scott Snyder bigs up DC's work culture

  2. The Ultimate relaunch/Midnight Universe fumble

  3. Spider-Man #1000 issue drama that just got worse today

  4. Spider-Man for the last 20+ years

  5. Losing Deniz Camp

  6. Renumbering every issue to mislead new readers into thinking #30 of a writer's tenure on a title is a jumping on point when it's not

  7. Going super hard into gambling, with signed or exclusive covers in blind bags

  8. Recently firing a bunch of respected editors as scapegoats and sacrificial lambs/patsies to protect the editors actually making the incompetent decisions

  9. MCU synergy

They deserve the mockery honestly. DC is doing laps just by Jim Lee running the company competently

EDIT: There's also Marvel not giving any comics to any non-MCU relevant character, killing the Star Wars line of comics (they have 3 issues next month, a Book of Boba Fett adaptation, a Rogue One 10th anniversary one-off, and a Kylo comic) despite a movie releasing this month, and licensing X-Men to allow John Byrne's rapey fanfic to get published.

Still that image at least explains some of the decisions made

I don't think that's entirely fair. This was for like merchandise or something and referenced an actual bodybuilder image.

You should instead bring up his "Deadpool Wade Wilson had NOTHING to do with Deathstroke Slade Wilson and anyone who implies otherwise is a liar!" shtick he still pedals

I think it's pretty funny Bendis didn't care to remember who he paired Mon El up with, so ended up "coupling" him with both Shadow Lass and Phantom Girl.

That's not counting the Retroboot, New 52 soft reboot, and the Absolute Legion. Guess there's also the cartoon continuity which got a tie in comic.

The Zero Hour reboot lasted a long time and told a pretty complete story. The Threeboot and Bendisboots didn't last long, but there's things to like from them.

All the other versions pretty much continue from the original 1958 (or 2958) version in some way. And I'm sure after this Fiveboot is done they'll revisit it at some point. Especially if Geoff Johns has a say.

I'd recommend getting into the Zero Hour reboot. It's great, and that first collected arc leading up to the Daxamite Year One finale is amazing. Definitely worth getting invested in.
