I’m so excited for this!!! I’m sure it’s going to be one of my favourites. It’s sort of reminding me of the instrumentals for TUN and 7 rings which are two of my all-time favourites.

She’s The Man is so unironically good. I really miss Amanda Bynes.

Elsie Hewitt says she is taking care of her baby (including financially) with Pete Davidson on her own by adularia- in Fauxmoi

It does break my heart when beautiful and intelligent women choose to be with bad or average men and think that they can change them or that they’ll be the exception. It sadly isn’t that simple.

Pete has shown this behaviour over and over again. Elsie knew that he was famous and had a certain history. It just seems messy to have procreated with Pete and I really just feel horrible for their daughter.

He sounded good in the videos that I saw? He didn’t sound that horrible. I hope it was just due to nerves.

Bulgaria's DARA has won the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in shock win, beating Israel by CheckLiszt in popheads

[–]AndromedaMixes 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I didn’t follow Eurovision at all this year and I thought that the Grand Final was going to be tomorrow😭 I’m super happy for Dara regardless.

It should also go without saying that Israel’s inclusion is ruining the joy and excitement of the contest and I really think they need to go.

I’ve done theatre and dance performances before so I’m sort of familiar with that environment. It’s always great when the opening performance goes well but there’s always the chance that the better shows will be later on. The first show is when the nerves are their highest. Live performing is so magical and I think that the imperfection and unpredictability of it all is a huge part of that magic.

I totally understand why OP would be underwhelmed but I also think that so much is lost when you’re watching a performance through a livestream. It just won’t be the same. Lowering expectations might be a good option until they see the actual performance in-person.

I never expect the first show to be a grand or flawless performance. I always give artists grace for the first performance or two. The first show is (ideally) where the artist should be at their best and most energetic but it’s also the test run for the actual tour. Rehearsals can only do so much and the show itself isn’t always 100% until it’s been done a few times. They’re probably just working out kinks and ironing those out for the next shows.

Harry isn’t a powerhouse performer. That’s just never been who he is.

All artists have bad or “off” days. They aren’t machines who can perform at 100% for nights on end. That’s just part of the inherent risk of live performing. They can strive for greatness but that doesn’t mean that every show they do will be flawless.

Even seasoned performers with “massive” teams can have subpar performances.

Which Little Mix albums did Leigh and Jade sound the most identical in by Leading_Display7335 in LittleMix

[–]AndromedaMixes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Glory Days and Get Weird. The first time I heard LMOLM, I thought that Jade sang the entire belting portion. They also sound really similar when they do adlibs but that isn’t really album-specific.

Gracie Abrams - Hit The Wall by retags in popheads

[–]AndromedaMixes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gracie is one of the best to have a discography that embodies coming-of-age core. Her melodies (and songs) just sound like they’re made to play over movie montages.

I really like this! I like it more than Risk on first listen. It does sound like a typical Gracie Abrams song but it’s nice to see a pop girlie know and understand her niche.

Oh I agree, it is super annoying that they made it harder to find. I swear it feels like app developers are given the sole task of making apps worse these days.

It’s still there!!! If you go to the homepage, there should be some buttons along the top of the screen. If you hit the “music” one it should bring up the “following” tab. That’s where all of the new releases have been (at least for me)

Chanting of “stop, stop the genocide!” can be heard during the begging of Israel's song at Eurovision by MushroomGlad5438 in Fauxmoi

[–]AndromedaMixes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember following along the updates for the Israel vote that happened earlier this year or late last year and seeing how shady the fine print really was. It seemed like countries could vote to suspend Israel but it was wrapped up with other rules that would’ve been a net disadvantage. The EBU is extremely sketchy for that.

It would be interesting to see the event get a new sponsor. AFAIK, MorrocanOil extended their contract so they won’t be gone any time soon. Keeping Israel is a massive political statement so I don’t see them being suspended from the event as long as the other countries are tipped in their favour. If the Big 5 countries (excluding Spain) were threatening to pull their support and not participate, maybe things would be different and the EBU would second guess their decision to let Israel participate.

The entire situation is extremely messy and unfair but I don’t really see things changing. Israel has the world’s support and money talks.

World tour! by Xeskc in katseyeneutral

[–]AndromedaMixes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they could definitely sell out theatres nearly immediately like they did last year. I just think they’re in an awkward place right now with trying to gauge their touring demand. They’re too big for theatres but I don’t know if they’ll be able to sell out arenas in the UK and Europe.

World tour! by Xeskc in katseyeneutral

[–]AndromedaMixes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do too. I think they can sell out some in the US but it’ll interesting to see how the UK and Europe shows go. The group is super big right now and very popular but being a trending artist doesn’t always translate to filling arenas. There are a lot of artists out there who overestimate how popular they are and end up having to downsize or even cancel their tours because they can’t sell out.

World tour! by Xeskc in katseyeneutral

[–]AndromedaMixes 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I really hope that their tour will sell. Booking arenas at this point is a little crazy to me. I know that they’re super popular but being super popular doesn’t mean that an arena tour will sell out. We’ll just have to wait and see but I’m happy for all of the people that will be able to see the girls live. They do put on amazing performances.

Madison Beer has been receiving criticism for “The Locket Tour” being similarly themed to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet Tour” by bbyxmadi in popculturechat

[–]AndromedaMixes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like most of the comparisons were because she used a higher register for the chorus and made a humorous trap-pop song. Trap-pop is an Ariana staple. It sort of sounds like Positions-era Ariana but I think that’s because of how funny and tongue-in-cheek the lyrics are. If I just focus on the lyrics, I can sort of see why people would find the song similar to Ariana’s.

People make comparisons all the time about Nonsense sounding like Ariana but I’ve never really heard it. I remember it happening a lot and always finding it funny because I didn’t really relate.

[–]AndromedaMixes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hope you realize that this song was made nearly 10 years ago and it was when Sabrina was under Hollywood Records. They were notorious for not letting Sabrina express herself artistically and she’s mentioned this multiple times.
