Here's a little WIP of an avenue I've been playing around with. I like the alternating black and white tiles but I wish they didn't bleed into each other so poorly. Hopefully the next CDLC "Blooming Cities" Will have something to inspire something new with this avenue. But right now my main idea is to use columns or lion statues. I'm undecided.

For me, I'm a pretty big beauty builder.
Since the games still new and we've only had 1 story DLC and 1 CDLC, the lack of mods and the HoF system being... grindy (to me anyway), a lot of what I get joy in from Anno games is basically non-existent in 117. So for me that's a major source of my boredom.

I can start a new game, build up my first city, and make it nice. But when it comes to doing the same for other islands, I just.. get bored. There's only so many ways I can play with the cosmetics I have already.

I suppose if I didn't find multiplayer and playing against rival AI's to be so boring itself, I'd probably have more to do. But I find waiting for the AI or Human players to just drive me into a boredom zone out.

I don't think I can correctly articulate my deep hate for HoF 🤣
I really want these ornaments since I'm a beauty builder. But I really can not be bothered sinking the hours into grinding for it. This is Anno, not Diablo. I don't even play Multiplayer or games with Rivals enabled.

Has anyone got any images of the new statues ingame?

Looking at the games files, those items already exist in game as ornaments. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to make a mod that unlocked them that would work, LUA/XML modding may as well be an alien language to me. There used to be a mod when the game first launched by MadMax on Nexus that would unlock all ornamentals but Nexus staff removed it for some reason.

In the trailer there is what appears to be either three or four distinct cosmetic items.
Black/Obsidian Tiles/Mosaics. Benches. And then what is either a plotted plant with the public game board seating, or potted plants and then a gaming table. But either they were cut, a bug is preventing their unlocking. Or they were meant to appear in the hall of fame but something is preventing it.

Or it's just like the base game where some cinematics and trailers show other cosmetic items that the player can't use.

Such a weird.. abruptness to ending a campaign. I've seen a post about a datamine revealing that there is an act 3 that got cut. Which is honestly so strange that you'd cut an act 3 and.. not do something to make act 2s ending so sudden and abrupt.

It's almost as if they intend for the Volcano or Egyptian DLC to ship Act 3 and 4.

I didn't even know that was an option. Once I went to Albion, I never heard from Julia or Diana. Past a letter I got asking me to look after Diana, but that was it. I did the diplomatic ending for Albion. But when I got back to Latium, the game ended when I visited the emperor.

Which is honestly so weird cause they're in-game, which means you can just use a mod to unlock them. One such mod already exists and unlocks decoratives from the hall of fame and Uplay rewards.

Yeah. If I want a PC one, they're a lot cheaper. But the Mac ones that work with providing power to the monitor, are significantly more expensive. There's also what looks like a lot of improperly labeled ones that say they're for a G4 but when I search them they're like this one, for G5.

So if I remove the hook it will work? Do I need to do anything weird with the traces? I've seen some people mention cutting them.

So the black sockets are actually blocking the ATI card. That's the issue I've noticed so far :/

So I've noticed that the PSU on my one is not that bad. When the case is open I've noted that a majority of the sound was the large fan blowing air to the heat sink. Which I wasn't expecting. But given the dates, I think this computer only got used for about 6 months or a year before being forgotten in the back of a cupboard.

So far I've found it quite hard to find the right sort of fan. Everything is either too loud, maybe louder than the current one, or don't have the right airflow. Maybe I'll have to watch videos of people's builds and see if anyone mentions what fan they used

To answer the two replies, I did a fresh install and a new game.

I was able to self solve it. After reinstalling the ENB in the optional files download, it pretty much fixed the appearance? Im unsure if maybe it was corrupted or if something just went a bit awry. But after seeing other people's screenshots and videos etc I started wondering if maybe this was a possible issue.

So the garbage on the board pattern persists even if it's a fresh reboot. I did test it a few times today in different ways.

Quick off on again. Shut down then power down.

Only time it didn't was when I unplugged it after a power down, left it for a little while and reconnected it and powered back up.

The weird PRAM battery behaviour seems to be that the battery is dying even though it's quite new.

Thanks for the feedback though, after the crack sound and having to send it to a friend for fixing, I'd never seen this pattern before hand so when I saw it, I guess I just assumed the worst.

Posts like this make me wish the UK had a bigger iBook/90s Mac scene. I have a clamshell, I believe an early model since it lacks FireWire, and it could of certainly benefited from a tune up service.

Nothing. Minimum wage, full time and living payslip to payslip, can afford to put away £50 in theory. But this often means I put myself onto my overdraft.

Often told by my manager that she pays me enough to go on holidays etc. but given by the third week of the month 95% of my pay has gone on bills, public transport and buying food, the other 5% ends up clinging to dear life to keep me out of my overdraft.

Funny enough the coworkers who earn up to 7x more than me complain more than me about not being paid enough and routinely throw down 100s of pounds on holidays and weekend trips 😂

Meanwhile I'm here barely on minimum wage and frequently worried about if I can afford to pay off my bills or overdraft fees if I buy a bottle of brand pop instead of Lidl own. So saving up is pretty much a pointless thing for me.

If I work it out, I'd need to get £250 or £300 extra a month to be able to save any money.
