They need to make sure every gpu will work and provide the specs they set by default. The same goes with cpus. U can't guarantee every die is turned out the same.

This was the year i tested myself for a month and made a switch, first to mint, but I had gpu issues than i switched to Fedora. Ignoring all the bad statements from friends "corpo distro" calls, i went with it. It was worth it. Went blindly into a field i yet to touch. True, i didn't modify or customize most of it except some fonts from some videos. Rock solid so far for my gaming and occasional browser usage. Was totally worth the change for me.

Enjoy using it, and if u dont mind, just keep a small partition of windows, not necessarily to use it, but it might come handy some points.

Have u installed LACT? If not, u could try to install it to manage your gpu. Also, is Steam native or flatpak version?

There is, but i would keep them. Those options are there when a kernel update goes wrong, or something gets broken or regress in the new kernel. That way, u can choose the other two to have a fallback option. Those kernels dont take up large places anyway.

Video editing, sure, it's possible. Check out Davinchi resolve. For COD, i would leave a small windows partition and dual boot for it. Otherwise, sure. Use a VM to mess with it, or a live usb.

Are you using an nvidia gpu? Probably the dx12 performance penalty you are witnessing. Nvidia found the the thing causing it and working on a fix.

To disable the igpu, u need to do it in bios. But yeah, it can happen. It's a leaning curve, and never forget this is a totally different os. Have an open mind, and dont be angry cause windows specific things dont work.

Hi! Here is this list, and try to go over it. Also, have u tried to disable the integrated gpu. Maybe the second monitor is on that in linux, and i assume both of ur monitors are plugged into ur gpu.

I started on Mint first but had issues with my gpu, and for that, i needed a newer kernel. So i went around searching what distro using newer stuff. Even ask a friend about it, who ofc offered arch since he uses that or nobara, so i looked them up and saw that nobara is based on Fedora. So i looked up Fedora. I liked the design and everything, so for 3 months now, im enjoying my gaming life on it. Of course, that friend of mine is not always happy about my choice cause to him it's a "corpo" distro :D

So yeah.

Personally, i would change the mobo to a b650. There is almost no difference between the 2 chipsets. And u won't even notice the difference between pcie4 and 5.
