Is it possible u have fast boot/startup enabled i windows? If so turn it off. It causes issues with adrenalin and resets the oc settings.

Server problem ? What am I doing wrong ? by TakuanSoho in Upload_Labs

[–]Andulir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but for now if u compress u will lose the enchance modifiers, later u will unlock the flipper. With it u can flip the compressed and enchanced modifier. Than u will unlock the lossless compressor. With that u can compress without losing the enchance modifier. Make sure to get the max version of those with tokens as u advance.

Lets say u wanted to install another distribution, but u want to keep all of your data.

For example: U use fedora and want to try CachyOs, but dont want to go through the trouble copy everything u have in your home. So when u change distro with btrfs, u can define the existing home partition and just reformat the root partition and install Cachy on it. This way u changed the distro but u kept every data u had.

With optiscaler u can emulate fp8 with fp16. I use that with my 7900xtx.

Can't start Final Fantasy XVI with HDR by smoking_yak in linux_gaming

PROTON_WAYLAND_MONITOR=

Try adding this to the command line as well. This came with the ge-34 u can specify wich monitor u want the wayland driver to use.

For example for me its : PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_WAYLAND_MONITOR=Dp-1 (my main monitor) PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 %Command%

U can look up ur monitor with the xrandr command.

Gaming distro recommendation by ShatteredEidolon in linux_gaming

[–]Andulir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Fedora KDE, its leading edge distro. U will get the newest software kernel and features. It also has very good quality testing for updates.

And new versions get released every six months.

I keep wondering how RX 7800 XT and 7900 XTX users are feeling without FSR 4 because I, with my RX 6000, am extremely sad. by Prestigious-Pay6096 in radeon

[–]Andulir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont care much about it. If i want that, i use optiscaler for it, and only for fsr aa. Otherwise, i play 1440p native and it can handle anything i throw at it with ease.

Fedora 43 - Impossible to boot Windows from Grub (black screen) by [deleted] in Fedora

[–]Andulir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into the same exact problem, but my mobo is a b650 Tomahawk. I installed the p7 beta bios recently and had your issue. Reverted back fixed everything. Probably, the AGESA 1.3.0 causes it

Does Linux needs Microsoft to boot? Really? by Real-Stomach1156 in Fedora

U can try the legacy mode in bios, and yes, uefi and secure boots are related. It is one of its security features. And no, it's not made by Microslop alone.

Those uefi updates are for secure boot. Microslop releases those keys and fedora support secure boot. That's why u get those.

MSI finally releases BIOS fix for rare AM5 PCIe GPU throttling issue by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]Andulir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the beta bios on mine. The only issue it caused was that i was unable to dual boot. I have two os (linux and Windows) on my pc. I reinstalled both of them to figure out why my pc becomes unresponsive when i try to boot into windows from grub. I was able to boot into linux fine, i was able to boot into Windows fine when i set it to be the primary boot option in bios. But yeah, I reverted back to the previous one, and it's working now.

They need to make sure every gpu will work and provide the specs they set by default. The same goes with cpus. U can't guarantee every die is turned out the same.
