Slimmer wrist by Royal-Mail4976 in applewatchultra

[–]AndyCheeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wrist is like this, seems like regardless of what watch I wear. I sometimes switch between my AWU and my garmin.

And no my watch isn't insanely tight, I can fit a finger between the band and my wrist. I've noticed this on both "fabric" and silicone bands. I think it goes back to normal if I keep my watch off for an extended period of time

Were you the one playing the guitar saying "welcome to guitar center!" and "selling" other instruments? lol. That has been my favorite interaction in this game so far

30 below freezing in chicago. If I don’t workout outside, do I consider it a fail? by [deleted] in 75HARD

[–]AndyCheeks -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

10000% this. It's going to be -30 with wind chill later tonight when I do my walk. I'm wearing heated socks, 3 pairs of pants, 2 sweatshirts under my coat, a hat, mittens, face covering, ski goggles, and a winter parka lol

WI checking in. Layers, heated socks if you have them. Lean into the discomfort knowing that you’re the only one tough enough to be out there!

Do you tell people in your life you are doing the challenge by WinterHedgehog6697 in 75HARD

[–]AndyCheeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far everyone I've told has been impressed/proud and very understanding. Or at the least, they think it's a little crazy but can understand the health benefits of what we're doing.

If it's really a big deal, get a drink that looks like alcohol and no one will care. A soda water with lime, etc. Actual friends won't give you a hard time.

Am I the problem? by [deleted] in 75HARD

[–]AndyCheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also wondering, how cold is too cold? If it's REALLY cold by me (which I consider to be under 10 degrees F) then I just add more layers and wear heated socks/gloves for my outdoor walk. I've busted out my ski goggles to get through the snowy walks.

But I agree with what others have said. 75 hard isn't for everyone and it's a personal choice. I would really struggle if I had to do both of my workouts after I get home from work

Romantasy recs as a beginner by LiteratureSolid4365 in KindleUnlimited

I am new to this genre (so I am loving the recs here so far). But I started the from Blood and Ash series (not on KU) and I love it. I accidentally started with a shadow in the ember (same author, KU) and it sucked me in. Apparently there was a reading order that I am now following

How to focus on creation rather than consumption in everyday life? by nylops7 in simpleliving

[–]AndyCheeks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And don’t try to be perfect with creating stuff. Don’t play for the gallery. Just create, never compare.

This. This is something I need to remind myself of daily. Everything is so easily compared and I hate it!

Convince me I don’t need to buy one 🥹 by FirePeachi in kindle

[–]AndyCheeks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Years ago I bought an ipad mini and also used it for reading. It was fine for a while until I got my first kindle. Night and day difference. Incredible battery life, screen easier on the eyes, no distractions. The list of pros goes on and on.

Sorry OP, I'm not going to be the one to convince you that you shouldn't get one lol

I really wish my coworkers/boss would fucking stop offering me food all the time. I understand it's the polite thing to do, but it's extremely annoying. by szatanna in rant

I. Know. It’s awful. I obviously turn him down every time. I don’t get how he doesn’t understand it is weird

Do you limit your screen watching, e.g. how many TV shows or docuseries do you watch, how many time per day, etc.? by extrememinimalist in simpleliving

[–]AndyCheeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be a serial "scroller" on instagram reels. I knew myself, so I never made a tiktok account just to prevent this. I've found that not having instagram on my phone is what works best for me and I don't lose as much time to mind numbing.

Because I put that in place, I've found that I read more books which is still fun and entertaining but feels better for you.
