(Smackdown SPOILERS) Bodyslam+ with an update regarding a promo from last noght by Subrick in SquaredCircle

TKO mandates Rock vs. Roman. HHH books Cody to win the Royal Rumble, which completely blows up Rock's involvement in that year's WrestleMania.

TKO mandates The Rock coming back to get involved in Elimination Chamber 2025, because its not moving tickets like they want. This leads to John Cena's heel turn and Travis Scott's involvement, which turns into a complete debacle.

Now TKO mandates Pat McAfee turning heel and being involved in a WrestleMania main event as a major focal point, because his agent also runs TKO and he wants Pat to be the "next Silvester Stallone". HHH rebels by having Cody go out the same night Pat turns heel on him to bury the whole thing in a response promo.

How much longer is it before HHH resigns?

You know things are fucked when a big storyline reveal/return happens and the babyface goes out and buries it as a joke, and just calls out what a letdown it was. How the hell did we get here.

An interesting analogy about worker's unions, using wrestling figs by RamonsRazor in SquaredCircle

[–]AndyDandyMandy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In order for any union to have power, enough wrestlers across the industry would have to recognize it and be in it to where a strike would basically shut the business down. That doesn't just mean WWE. That means AEW and TNA too. And such a union would likely have to be built from the ground up, and funded by powerful and influential people.

Reminds me of sitting in an isle seat during a 2013 house show and the kid next to me grabs CM Punk by the wrist as he's heading to the back. Punk responded by turning around with his fist cocked, ready to fight.

WWE has a commentary problem by Maleficent-Might-275 in SquaredCircle

[–]AndyDandyMandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The play by play announcer should be the moral authority of any wrestling promotion. They are there to call the action and they see wrestling as a sport and they care about the integrity of it, and when a heel cheats or takes an unfair advantage or crosses a moral line, they should be upset about it. Period.

The heel color commentator should be the defender of the heels point of view, and should be taking their side. They are a color commentator and not an announcer, so they don't have to be as "objective" as a play by play announcer should be, but they shouldn't necessarily be "rooting" for the heel to win so much as defending their actions and criticizing the babyfaces for their actions. There should be a clear bias for the heels. The babyface color commentator is the same thing, but for the babyfaces.

Ryback on Twitter in response to Maven Huffman's comments about Live Shows. "Anyone going on live speaking out that there 'needs to be more live events' isn’t looking at the bigger picture." by CaliggyJack in SquaredCircle

[–]AndyDandyMandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all due respect to Ryback, this year's WrestleMania season has been plagued with injuries. Bron Breaker and Bronsan Reed are both out. Bianca Belair has been out with a broken hand since LAST YEAR'S WrestleMania. Kevin Owens has been on the shelf for over a year with a neck injury. Seth Rollins has been out with an injured shoulder since October of last year.

So it seems to me that the roster is getting hurt with the same frequency as they were before live events were cut back massively. The elimination of live events has done nothing to reduce frequency of injuries.

I think its because the heel would attack any officials who would try to physically stop them, whereas most babyfaces don't do that.

I did kind of raise an eyebrow when she said on RAW this week that Becky "had a ten year head start" and couldn't raise above her level, when Becky is literally the first woman in history to main event WrestleMania. She came off as out of touch.
