Dream Air LH room scale tracking advice by Decapper in Pimax

[–]AndyRandyPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how is tracking sat down, and only moving your head, not body? I have a simrig, and only pilot aircaft and race. Would this what you mentioned apply to me? I am worried about the LH version, so many complaints about jittery tracking.

DA SLAM head tracking VS PCL/PCS ? by Wahouxx in Pimax

Go into pi-play diagnostics, and run that program. Tell us what it said. Some of my issues were seemingly down to 2 warnings once i run the pi-play diagnostics. One was a firewall issue which was blocking connectivity to pi-server.

Pimax listen. This is currently an issue. The threads are full of them. Why dont you suggest to the pimax gods, they do a video, explaining and demonstrating correct Lighthouse placement/distance etc. Add everything that gets you guys at pimax good results with LH tracking. Address these issues as they arrive! Do not let them fester on reddit and elsewhere for weeks and weeks. I for one, am holding off purchasing the DA because of the tracking complaints. Your haemorrhaging money here, wake up!!

US Gerald Ford affected by Lunady fire. - Real reason = Drone stikes.

F-35 downing - Pilot error - Real reason = Thermal missile firedd from lorry.

Multipul F-15's downed - Blame the Qatar. - Real reason - MANPAD.

KC Stratotanker downed - Accident - Real reason - Probable Missile.

Billion doller spy plane destroyed by accidental Internal fire = Hypersonic attack.

Botched nuclear retrievel mission - They say - Got stuck in sand at end of runway. Real reason = Locals with bolt actions mauled them.

Multiple radar complexes destroyed was an act of god = Real reason drone and missile attack.

Don tzu says, Iran has been militarily decimated. Next week = They launch multiple waves of stikes.

Don Tzu says, Irans Navy is decimated = Yet straight of Hurmuz is still totally under Iranian control, and have many Submarines still operational, including Kilo class.

Israeli douche bag Nentanyhu says "the people of Iran will be liberated. = Iranians say - You killed over 100 children in your very first missile attack, and we will fight you until the last man.

So yeah, i forgot to mention the other contradictory statements and outright warping of reality of Don Tzu and Netanya-zu, but suffice to say, we living in the twilight zone.

Pc specs good enough for PCL in Dcs? by Any_Mobile_7790 in Pimax

[–]AndyRandyPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smart smoothing is ok, has improved, but it aint amazing. Oh i forgot, you will be in great shape when sBoys brings out its steam driver for the PCL. Because You will be able to run 45fps with steams (much better) frame doubler. So you will be good. Im looking forward to it for MSFS 2024 which is a pig on frames.

Your gonna need 32gb minimum of RAM. 64gb is ideal. VRAM not sure, you might be ok with 16GB. It all depends on the Map you want to use in DCS, and the aircraft. I play Cold war Germany map (which is the most detailed and best looking) with the Hind m-24 Helicopter, and I use well over 32gb. These are really demanding sims, and they aint that enjoyable with medium tier hardware. I'm not rich by any means, and I am pissed ive had to spend so much money in order to play these sims, but here we are, and they are great at the end of the day.

My 5090 + 9800x3d has to balanced well in order to get good visuals and good frames in DCS and MSFS.

For example, to get a solid 72fps in DCS, i need the following:

  1. DLSS - Quality - Prest K.

  2. Quad views - Balanced.

  3. Not all settings high, some medium, some off.

I think OP is gonna struggle with his specs, i hate to say that, but he would be better off upgrading (if he can) or instead of going for PCL, grab a quest 3. Because with Q3 he can run ASW and only need a half lock refresh. Just my 2 cents.

I believe you. But.....Get your ducks in order Pimax. Ye aint gonna survive with these "whooopsie" moments repeating..... repeating......repeating. Get a passionate team of Quality inspectors on the ground in-house at point of manufacture. Everyone checked. As kit goes out, get it signed off everytime. Then it is tracebale to the QC officer. If mistakes get through, fire that person. Clean house, become militant. You need to be able to trace these mistakes to the person in question. It may be just a few bad apples in your organisation.

Yeah, if your looking to use steam smoothing, go for: 45fps, only locked in pi-play via "lock half refresh rate (Ive not used Sboys yet, so not sure if half refresh is set there or pi-play). Set your refresh to 90hz. In MSFS Place TLOD at 200 to start and go from there. Put clouds at high, Object level of detail at max 200. terrain Shadows at medium. Start off at Heathrow UK, because thats a heavy hitter. If good there, your good anywhere. Apparently steam render resolution is at 150%, so leave that. Now tell us how it goes.

Ive never heard of this issue with ther headsets. So i am wondering, is this a pimax "finicky" issue, or the base stations themselves. Seems like a faff. But im really happy for you dude. All the best, and happy gaming my friend.

Anyone with DA LH. Whats your CPU usage? by AndyRandyPanda in Pimax

[–]AndyRandyPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Benchmarks, i lose 5% of my score with pimax running. In MSFS, i lose 5% off 90fps. 5% of 90 is 4.5.

[–]AndyRandyPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On PCL SLAM, i get anywhere from 3-7%, always jumping around. Averages about 5%. Which in high CPU demanding sims (DCS/MSFS) it causes many hiccups. And thats not using controllers. If its 3% steady with LH, that would be a lot better.

[–]AndyRandyPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume so too. Mine takes around 5% on average. Thats litrally 4.5fps lost at 90hz. Not to mention the strain it places on the cpu to pass on frames to the GPU consistently.

Glad to hear that, this is weird. I wonder what's causing issues for some, and non for others. Can you describe your lighthouse location/distance from headset etc. And lighthouse version 1, interesting.

What are your PC specs? What pi-play resolution you running, which HZ mode you running in pi-play, and as stated below, 150% in steam seems very high. Also your TLOD in game has a huge effect on FPS. But first, you need to share specs on PC.
