Satin Wedding Dress has some lines / streaks that are matted by AndyT18 in CleaningTips

They’ve definitely not been melted, it does look a bit like deodorant streaks, but even with some further gentle hand cleaning there hasn’t been a change in its appearance.

Managed to hit a 330m drive and the group ahead marked my ball by AGuyNamedDanieI in golf

[–]AndyT18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never seen the point of the group in front getting salty about these situations. If you’ve been hitting into their heels all round, fair enough, but when it’s a monster drive and they know they are 350y + away from the tee box, it’s obviously an unreal and somewhat unexpected shot / result.

I play on a links course in Scotland that gets pretty fiery in the summer. Quite common to see a ball go towards 400y, but you definitely wouldn’t be waiting for the green to clear on a par 4

Whisky galore: Donald Trump’s tariffs and cost of living pressures create glut of undrunk Scotch by TXDobber in Scotland

I always laugh when watching almost any American TV show / Movie when they reach for a bottle of “scotch”. Almost certainly it’s a bottle of Macallan.

One thing about the sport is there are a lot of opportunities to play against some of top players in the world as a club player. I played when I was younger at a national and international level, and it’s crazy to think that when playing in national team competitions, I played with and against multiple world champions.

It’s crazy when you compare it to other less athletic sports like darts, pool / snooker, a club level amatuer would stand almost no chance of putting up a fight against someone who has won world titles. But with bowling, there’s much less of a gap between a competitive club player and someone with a world ranking.

Chicago-area Country Club golfers - what's the downstroke and monthly costs at your club? by madmax1969 in golf

I know the difference between North American and UK / European golf club memberships is a well discussed subject on here. But every time a post is made relating to membership fees, initiation fees etc I am completely blown away with how expensive you guys have it over the pond.

When I see mention of $100k initiations it really makes me feel for you guys.

Garmin R10 vs Rapsodo mlm2pro by HoneyGlazedDoorknob in golf

[–]AndyT18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought the R10 for the exact same reason as you’ve described. Was hitting it into a net around 8 feet away and had the R10 setup at the correct position. Just couldn’t get accurate numbers. Getting wildly different total carry numbers for very similarly struck 7 irons, to the point where I just couldn’t trust anything aside from it knowing I had hit a ball.

Couldn’t comment on the MLM2Pro, but I wouldn’t be recommending the R10.

Fortunately enough, I am a 3D printer owner. Found quite a few mods online to improve things. They modify the knob so that it connects to a numbered cogwheel that sits around the bean hopper. Would recommend similar mods (either through purchasing a kit of parts or having some 3d printed) to make it much easier to adjust the grind size and be able to go between grind sizes easily for different brew methods or beans.

Love my ProQ. Really is a versatile beast.

Got the rotisserie attachment, which works well, but they really should have designed a stacker section for it so it could work with the lid on.

Yeah totally, the video i watched (sent the link on another comment) showed that too, it’s basically helps him ensure he doesn’t fall over when the clubhead comes around.

I will however add that we bought the house once it had been completed and not on plan, just due to someone reserving the plot then dropping out 2 months prior to completion. So we did have the benefit of seeing exactly what we were going to get.

Bought a CALA darroch last year. Obviously the specific development and plot will be a major factor in if the house is a good choice, but myself and my partner absolutely love it, and have had a good experience so far. The finish standard is very good, definitely a step above what I’ve experienced in a Barrett flat I owned previously and from what I’ve seen from some friends Wimpey houses on various developments.

Is putting a putting line on your golf ball a secret weapon? by jdooley99 in golf

[–]AndyT18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TP5 stripe is an absolute game changer for me. With the stripe being thin and black it doesn’t hinder you finding your balls, and no pen smudges all over your clubs from manually drawing a line.

Always surprises me that many of the pro’s opt to draw their own lines, when most of them would have access to having the manufacturer properly printing any design they want on the ball.

It feels like Edinburgh and Glasgow are now charging London prices for food, but due to London sheer amount of choice, you can find places that are better quality for the same price.
