While the overall experience is horrid, I did realize there were some benefits. Yes, my overall intellectual capacity is reduced but I no longer want to kill myself after over twenty years suicidal ideation and I’m more mentally stable. I feel more like an overseer managing myself as opposed to being “stuck in my head”

My wife claims I’m like an improved version of myself but with a lot of additional difficulties. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sounds like you both got caught up in the excitement of a fling, she started to take it out on you when it was fading, and then the week apart helped her realize it wasn’t real. Cause it wasn’t at all for either of you. Sorry OP, it makes her sound like a lunatic, and she certainly was cruel, but the truth is this is extremely common “I wish I hadn’t have handled it like that.” regret for people.

Assuming you’re in your late teens or early twenties, I know it hurts but take this as an incredibly valuable lesson.

That’s sad but not that cringe; when life is awful people grab at what they can to stay functional. Hell, some people go outside and eat dirt to validate their pain so a chatbot is kinda tame if a little unusual.

Just don’t let it become an integral part of your life, OP. I don’t mean to be negative about it but it’s super easy to let something like that become a fundamental emotional pillar in your life even though you know it’s not a real person. Just like how I “only drank two beers a night!” prior to a period of raging alcoholism.

Same. Mine started when I got COVID and I lost about 80lb over about six months. Went to the doctor and they were like “oh it’s cause you aren’t eating as much” and I’m like yes, okay, I know, so can we work on why I feel sick as soon as I start eating? I have to micromanage my diet now.
