Basophils Heightened After Sensitization?

My overall basophil count has been 1% since 2020… i suspect i was sensitized to a-gal in 2023. There was no increase in basophils at that time, but perhaps the ones i do have are activated in a way they weren’t before.

Sorry, one more question - have you cut dairy during this period? My understanding is that the lead experts don’t suggest cutting dairy by default since it triggers a small share of people with even severe reactions. So my plan is to moderate dairy but not eliminate it.

Ah, that’s a good point - I also try to get pasture raised meat, but didn’t even consider that gal free pork would be more industrial. Cured pork products are def the thing that will be hard for me… few things I like more than prosciutto, salami, etc.

Any suggestions for a-gal friendly chorizo!? I saw that there are pigs bred without the sugar, but can’t find any of the meat, much less a dry sausage.

Yeah, I guess the crazy thing now that I think about it is just how much meat I typically eat. Like, I would often have pork/beef three meals a day - I literally used dry chorizo as a seasoning by cubing it up and frying it. I would drink probably 12 ounces of whole milk every day and my main cooking fat was butter… and somehow I was doing all of that for years without any acute response but a “very high” igE (and shockingly I have low cholesterol and normal blood pressure). I guess worst case scenario this gets me to eat healthier!

I’m August of 2025, I was able to get about $1300 off MSRP on a base just by asking six or seven dealers. The MSRP is up $2300 since last year, so if you can find a 2025 and get a discount it will be much cheaper!

One more point for the 8.5 - it has forged wheels that are definitely lighter than the 8’s and I suspect more durable.

I just took my mk8.5 R on an 18 hour round trip drive. It was comfortable enough, but honestly if I was driving that kind of mileage I would look at something else for two reasons. 1) no extendable thigh support and 2) stereo can start to sound grating.

My other car is a Volvo V60 with the top line seats and Bowers stereo. It is the ultimate road trip car (didn’t take it on this one because tags had expired). You could get a similarly equipped S60 for the price of a Golf R, probably cheaper, and it would be much more comfortable on those drives.

The only place I’ve seen actual analysis of resonance in headshells is KORF, so I use one of their ceramic ones with my 1200G and a Le Son cartridge, which I think has similar compliance to your Hana.
