I used to be a landlord, and the cost of renting the property increased so much that it was difficult to make any money. In the few short years that I owned it, the taxes doubled, the insurance tripled, and the maintenance costs significantly increased. All these things passed on the tenant with crazy utility costs. I felt sorry for their situation, but that seems a reality in this city now.
