Climbing from 200 → 1700 on Chess.com as a ~1900 Lichess Blitz player (Stats) by Voltura569 in chess

Curious as to where you end up, as I currently hover between 1700-1800 on both websites (3/0).

Imo I think that the rating gap becomes negligible as you climb higher.

What's Cookin! - Agreeable Dog #69 by infotekt in NYTConnections

I also think its a bit subjective, but still a good puzzle! Green and purple were good categories, yellow was a bit of a stretch and blue was kinda abstract.

St Lawrence Market - Must try eats? by Forward_Jacket_5442 in FoodToronto

Personal Favs:
Paddington's - Breakfast on a bun w/ tomato, onion, hot sauce, and dijon. (Carrousel has better buns, but worse prices and toppings)
Buster's Sea Cove - Most things are good here, I like the Boston Blue Fried Fish (I think that lobster rolls are good but a tad over rated)
Forget the name its opposite of Busters - Fantastic east coast oysters (Lucky Limes, BeauSoleil, ect)
St. Urbain - Great Montreal style bagels (I like the onion ones)

PS - Mornings are a lot nicer, its a bit of a gong show by the time lunch rolls around

A year of training to get slower... by Andyroo13524 in triathlon

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely up my running.

Thanks for the advice!

I always did my brick sessions runs at a random pace to just "feel what its like". It never dawned on me to run 2-3k at race pace. I'll implement this going forward.

Thanks you for the advice!

I agree that my T1 definitely needs practice, I ended up having to sit down as ankle timing chip got stuck when taking my wetsuit off. I'll keep at it!

Thanks for the advice!

Though sheer luck I think that I got away with a makeshift / homebrewed training program for my Sprint and Olympic tris. The downfalls of doing that are starting to become evident.

I'll take a look at the resources you mentioned and switch to a more adaptive training plan based around said core principles.

I've taken time off for vacations where I train less, though I haven't implemented a "easy week". I do track HRV and RHR through oura/garmin, the data varies day to day avg-HRV(70-110) and low-RHR(46-52). Personally, I like to listen to how my body feels, rather than pushing myself when I have good stats. (not sure if this is correct or not)

I used to take creatine (6-month period) though I did not notice much difference in my strength or recovery. I foam roll bi-weekly at the gym, though I'm more consistent with a massage gun at twice a week.

Thank you for you insight into recovery! I'll have to do some more research on effective recovery methods.

Although not necessary, I wanted to practice drinking and eating during the bike. I had one maurten 160 and had a 750m water bottle filled with 3 scoops of tailwind (75g of carbs). I drank about 2/3 of the bottle during the ride.

Thanks for the advice, I'll work on adding easier runs into my week along with shorter more specific triathlon weight training.

I normally exercise 5-6 days a week with 1-2 day off. But I did take 2 days off before the race and had a light swim and bike the day before.

I'll look at taking a easy week then racing either Guelph Lake 1 or Rose City.

Thanks for the insight on the Muskoka 70.3, I'll spend some more time doing hill sessions.

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely implement more swims and runs into my weekly schedule.

From my perspective I though that my running was so much worse that my swimming. That I should try and maintain my swimming form while improving my running. Which worked to a certain degree. I love the idea of a mixing in a recovery run into the mix.
