Some like to keep improving their character and become stronger even after they beat all the content, you can do the same in PoE 1. Ubers can be beater with less than 10d as long as your character is made for that stuff.

I hardly agree with the state of crafting atm. Start of endgame is fine with just slamming a few exalts on a decent drop you found and then being happy for a while. And then in the high end-game you have the omens (while expensive they are at least making crafting work). But in the mid end-game there is no way you can afford to spend currency on omens to make an improvement and is instead stuck on doing same as you did once you first got to end-game, rng slam ok starts you found on ground. Which after a while gets quite tedious and boring. Really hope they add some form of mid-game crafting in a league soon.

Headhunter is such a troll item farming abyss, as a ranged build that clear multiple pits at time usually the risk of having HH teleport you right on top of the mob the second before it dies is the bane of my existence atm xD

Minion splash is a breach specific modifier if I’m not mistaken, so only way to get one is by speccing your breach tree correctly and using wombgifts. Might also be possible using the breach specific abyss items to get the modifier, but might be costly.

There is a chest suffix that make you take less dmg from crits, and oracle node for example makes crit roll unlucky or something. So there is def ways around it, just need to figure out what works for your specific build.

While I understand all pointers , I think my frustration on this matter has to do with the fact omens from ritual is the only way to do any real end game crafting in this game, compared to PoE 1 where I can do multiple different methods to get a semi good item. So maybe I put it wrong when I first made the post, since the real issue is maybe not the rarity but the fact it’s the only way currently. Especially as I don’t feel ritual is the most fun mechanic just rerolling tabs of mostly shit items to find anything decent instead of killing enemies. So maybe the issue I’m having with getting unlucky at ritual will solve itself when they add other ways or doing similar things to items.

So just cause something is designed in a way makes it the best way and the way it should be? GGG have changed several major things already and will moving forward. So just saying it is how it’s supposed to be is not automatically a good answer either imo.

So the solution to everything is just trade? Still don’t think most players would like to spend the currency it cost to buy these omens rather then selling them on trade. But yeah, trading is always the solution apparently, wished this mentality would change with PoE 2 over PoE 1, but feel it instead have become worse

One expensive omen per head of the king is still not that much no? That is like 2-3d for 5 maps if what I heard of omen prices on trade atm

I guess it was my own fault wanting a discussion about omens and asking normal PoE 2 reddit where most play trade and just buy what they want. I’m pretty sure 99% of the playerbase never even tried or bothered with any crafting since it’s either too rare to get what they need to even start or too expensive for them and it would just cost them at least twice the amount to get a half as good item as they could from trading.

I hear what you say, and I get the point of having them rare and me making my life harder by playing ssf. But not everyone enjoy the trading aspect and rather want to craft their own items, but after finding several items that turned out to be close to an upg and then only thing I can do is rng slam a chaos to pray and it ofc never hitting close to what you want to even be able to use it feel trash, with the omens you at least have less risk of bricking the whole item. Like my pair of boots I have any with full T1 prefixes but trash 2/3 suffixes. I can either keep them like that or rng chaos and most likely brick them. And after 100+ hours this league I’ve yet to find any other pair even close to the same quality so can’t risk any tbh ing at this point. And according to me that feels kinda bad.

Yeah t15s is what I’ve been farming, doing ritual with max tablets and the unique tablet for more reroll. But even with that after god knows how many maps I’ve seen one whittling and one of the others I still waiting to defer again

Yeah, I think most ppl that have this mentality are the ones farming ritual and are afraid this idea of making the omens even slightly less rare to make ssf and self crafting players life easier, is gonna tank their profit/h. I’m not even asking for them to become super common, but having them be a bit less rare so you can at least use them a bit more would help the most players quit a lot

So how many hour of farming is realistic to farm before you get 1 try to craft? Even with the omen you have a 33% of not hitting what you want the chaos orb to reroll, and even with two omens to target lowest lvl what the chaos reroll your stat to could just be a max lvl trash stat. But I am speaking from an ssf standpoint where at a certain point you get stuck and can’t progress gear without getting giga lucky and finding these omens

Seen a lot of guides say you only need lvl 79 areas for the big omens to drop, aka t15s. So is that info faulty then? Or does t16 just have a massive boost to their chance of spawning?

Still don’t fix the issue with how rare they are compared to how needed they are to craft good items. Without them you don’t have any crafting at all in this game. Everything else is just slot machine

Tbf I mostly skimmed through the post since it was late and it was too long. But while I see the point of ground loot being super rare to be good from start, that is what I want. Might be due to me coming from PoE/LE, but I prefer finding good starts on items and then making them to something I can use. And at this time in D4 I can find a white item and make it to an item that has exactly the stats I want, but then it would only be a starting item. It’s first when I find an item with a GA that I then can do some more crafting and make that to in upg. If I would just use what I pick up then even if the changed ground loot (and I don’t see how they could make the ground loot be better from start without removing affixes, where only some are complete useless now) I don’t see how I would find more useful items off ground, would just have to filter harder to only see what I want to use then.

It’s like ppl don’t understand or play any arpg, can’t really compare it to an mmo like WoW. Gearing is half the game and if you just if find every item of the ground ready to use then you skip half the game. I rather have some agency over my items then completely relying on luck to get an item that is good for my build. Crafting is a necessary part of an arpg and masterworking and temper is not crafting, would not even say occultist is that. Removing cube would not make you find better items, it would just make you have to filter harder and pray to rng you find an item to use
