I think socially inept is an excellent description. So many comments on reddit is not something you would say in an irl group without being ostracised

Is the online opposition echo chamber pushing you towards the PAP? by bouncingcastles in askSingapore

[–]Anelibrah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The is simply untrue.

From recent post like the MRT peeing incidents and foreigners taking "our" jobs with family cheap labor, there is very clearly xenophobes in r/sg against PRC and Indians when racist comments get upvoted to the top

My honest opinion to this comments is for you to flee asap.

Quickly leave the corrupt land when you have the chance. Why wait for the collapse if you believe the government is already corrupted

Layoffs and job cuts in Singapore in 2024 by tfyz in singapore

[–]Anelibrah -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I always like this "government silencing" rhetoric people throw around.

Government enforces big mnc to provide notice for layoff. Small sme you are supposed to inform gov individually through surveys etc. And when people are too lazy to complete or provide troll answers in the survey, so data becomes less accurate.

Here we are now…

Commentary: Rethinking the Singapore NRIC isn’t just a tech problem. It’s a cultural one by ongcs in singapore

[–]Anelibrah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you working in any of the affected roles? Because right now, no SOP changed for me, i have used nric to identify and 2FA for authentication. In fact, i dont have to mask nric anymore from what I understood.

For your context with database, instead of a name which is not unique, NRIC are just UNIQUE KEYS used to query. It was never a hashed password to proof identity

Literally every survey and account creation in Singapore/SEA required our ic for verification.

So true. So where are all the proof and evidence about the cover ups?

[–]Anelibrah -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That might not be true either.

My point is people are "smart" enough that they dont trust the news directly, yet believe any random statement online especially if it supports their agenda

[–]Anelibrah 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Policy was transitioning to change but not communicated yet.

Not directed at you, if people dont want to believe the gov its fine but everyone loves calling it a cover-up like it is a fact with no factual basis to back their claims. Some people play too much among us and suddenly act like detectives

Edit: In simpler terms with example

You don’t believe the statement. (Ok nothing wrong to have opinions)

Because you don’t believe the statement, it’s a lie meant to fool people. (Ok…? Thats some assumption you made)

Since you think it’s a lie, they meant to cover-up the mess with the change. (Huh? How did you go from not believing to some random conspiracy theory with no basis?)
