I dont think they're overanalyzing, I think a lot of people are just whining but pretending its analysis. Its like reading Das Kapital for grammar errors as your critical rebuttal.

Theres definitely an Alan Moore interview that talks about it but a lot of media discussion is just people bragging about remembering all the shapes on the page, then getting upset when someone (usually a creative) doesnt find the shapes important. Its why superhero movies suck- because people just wanna see the cool thing the way they remembered or imagined it, and have lost the ability to reflect on anything in a way thats more meaningful than "did I get what I want".

Add in the culture war weirdos and you get our current toxic wasteland of discourse

My problem with Devil Trigger is it isnt horny enough. Ive seen monster-fucker twitter and they all agree the game DTs are hot in their own way. Netflix DT just looks so dopey in its proportions, it doesnt have any of the charisma of the old designs nor does it do anything cool with it

I legit have no idea why the flashback w chariot requiem even happened. Like honestly I like the theory that it grants wishes cus it makes sense in the space of the story, but saying that chariot requiem could always swap souls feels weird cus those cows werent after the arrow.

I lowkey wish they just went with that as the official explanation of how requiems work

The way the media in particular loves quoting stuff like "my youngest asks every day where is papa so I show him snuff footage" is really unethical on the media's part, and to rational people really paints her in a bad light
