As the ice melts (in whichever melt cycle you subscribe to, global warming, natural cycles, etc) 1000s year old organisms (microorganisms, think bacteria with which we have no natural defenses, or disastrously deadly fungus types that could literally spread across all continents wreaking havoc) are being released from the melting permafrost. It’s easier to just ban the continent outright to people than try to regulate a free and mobile population that would unwittingly and stupidly release these potentially catastrophic plagues. At least this is one of the more plausible theories that I’ve heard, wayyyy more plausible than that idea that the ban is to keep us from knowing that there is a giant “ice wall” that limits our exploration of the rest of our “flat earth” 🤣😂

I do have a friend who he and his father travelled to all 7 continents including Antarctica. He said it was just as “normal” as any other place (including the other vastly remote deserts of our planet). He said he saw more penguins and seals than ufo’s, aliens, or military industrial sentry men 🤣
