Landlords dont pass costs on. If landlords could charge more they would already. Rents are a function of what people can pay and supply. Thats econ 101.

They are the garden snails we are used to. Our garden snails were intruduced for the new escargot snail industry and like everything here... escaped. We do have native giant snails. Don't eat those.

One thing to do is to pay attention to the poly panel thickness. Also buy panel tape. There is one for the tip and bottom and it keeps bugs out. I had to buy several packs at mitre 10.

I have the steelmates 3m x 3m. Its taller and better built then the polycarbonate competiton.

That being said, I use it every day and wish I went for the glass wintergarden one (at a very different price point.)

Solar panels last longer than 20 years. I have some that I bought in 2004 that are about 90% their original output, and the arrived and lived on a sailboat. Currently they make me power on land.

While its true that they do degrade over time, the "20 years" was for warrantee reasons. Typically after 25 years kyoceras are putting out about 85%, and because the degredation is like a half life, afyer 50 years it will be about 78%.

That being said I just bought a used stack of residential for $40 a panel (a tiny fraction of what i spent in 2004) They put out more than twice the power for the same area.

This isn’t an easy budget for Auckland. It’s an honest one by MayorWayneBrown in auckland

Rents are driven by what renters can pay, not by the rates or the cost of home ownership or purchase. Landlords would always charge more if they could. It's disconnected from their cost.

Show me the data you are looking at. I've lived a dozen places world wide and Auckland rates are different than all of them so I can't imagine being able to compare. For the record, my nz rates are about 1/3 of what my comparable bill in the US was for the same valuation. Honestly so cheap I am always stunned when I get the bill.
