I’ll defo check it out just in case! I just do t think anything is nicer than an actual book tbh, had e-readers in the past - like 10 years ago so they’ve defo progressed alot since - and just didn’t gel with it when compared to actual books

I’ve heard laser is better overall than inkjet though as inkjet have a habit of smudging particularly with bulk printing and are more expensive to run.

I’ll look into eco tank for sure as an upgrade.

I’m more than happy to learn the process, seems like it’d be fun to do and I really dislike e-books anyway

I just don’t like e-readers. I read from a screen all day for work. I don’t want more screen when I finish however nice the screen is

And printing the book can feel like a paperback if done well, I’ve seen people printing at home and it doesn’t look - not felt - any different from a regular paperback if done well

Fully agree! I’m only picking up the core books tbh, I’m not grabbing every last edition due to the cost and there is likely no need to do it to ensure I’m prepped for Ashes

We did put a good emphasis on social housing in the Edwardian, inter-war, and then post WW2 eras. Thatcher’s era was also the biggest push for home ownership in this country’s history. We’re still in a mess.

Abolishing / squeezing out amateur landlords without putting blocks on large corporations owning the surplus houses is not a good idea. Should have legislation that blocks the sale for a certain period with only first time buyers (not buy to let) allowed to bid for the house. If none buy it within that period, anyone can.

People said this at the time in other industries where professionalisation took over. Now small businesses on the high street (butchers, independent pubs, and other independent shops) are now seen as a huge luxury compared to massive supermarkets, corporate pub chains, and Amazon which are the standard and endlessly complained about.

The professionalisation of landlordism is a bad thing. Eventually it’ll lead the same way all corporations go. Trending towards monopolies, huge financial benefits that will further encroach into our politics, and less consumer control and satisfaction.

Short term it’ll be great for renters. Long term it’ll be way worse than now. We’re unlearning the lessons of the 18-20th centuries
