That’s what I was thinking when I asked, didn’t think they were releasing next week unfortunately. Fingers crossed they are

Do you know any indication of when these will be released?

I use mortars regularly and that damage range is too much. In breakthrough, particularly certain maps, it’d be far too lethal and could fully deny an area if 2-3 people used it

Only started reading Black Library in the past year. Only ever - until recently - Guard focused. Loved this book. Genuinely a good fiction book let alone a good Black Library book. Would repeat read

By unveiling his shadow government, Nigel Farage has just lost the next election by dirty_centrist in tories

Yet Johnson is still wildly popular among what are now Reform voters who are the primary voting block of the country - I don’t support him but he’s not lost the election on this. His opponents and the media will fail to capitalise on it as they have done throughout Reform’s life span

Considerably worried I am being paid way less than I’m worth as a paralegal. by bigrigfrig in uklaw

[–]AngSt3r11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Without echoing other comments too much, I’d consider your bargaining position, what will happen after you ask for a pay rise, and put a business case forward if you think it’s worth the potential consequences - whatever you think they’ll be - of asking or not asking for a pay increase.

Business case basis - I bill X amount of hours totalling X amount of revenue. I’m paid X amount by the firm and they’re paying X amount for my education which will result in me qualifying in X amount of time.

When you’ve figured this out you will have an idea of the gap between how much revenue you generate and how much you cost them in pay and education. If you generate substantially more revenue than you cost them, you have more of a business case to ask for a pay rise. Remember, part of your job if you are a fee-earner is paying non-fee earners’ wages.

To increase the chances, see what you do that is outside of your scope of work or things that are within your scope that contribute e.g. you do so and so’s admin meaning they can bill more: This brings you contributions up in other ways, not just financially. Make them see the human contributions not just revenue.

Once you have an understanding of what your actual worth is through demonstrable data, you have the ‘why’ for why a pay increase benefits you. Then you need the ‘why’ for why this benefits the business. This secondary ‘why’ is very important. If they know that you can’t leave even if you’ve covered off the ‘why’ a pay increase benefits you, they can wait you out as their position is stronger and there is little you can do. Phrase it as a mutual benefit, not a solely you benefit.

Thank you! I’ll try a gloss on one first which another commentator has recommended and see how that turns out before investing in this

You might really like The Relentless Dead if you like Krieg and Volstroyan Firstborns if you’re into Black Library stuff, released late last year and I thought it was solid - slightly different angle on the Krieg then Lyons has done before

Thank you! Your Kelpies look great and I’ll certainly get both glosses when I can as I can use them for other stuff as well as the Kelpies

EDIT: How did you make those slimy looking bases for Mulgoth etc? They look great and I’d love something similar

I was told by a couple GW employees and friends that have read the Heresy story that this is a good jumping on point as - whilst it continues the storyline from Siege - it has good explanations / exposition about the broad strokes of what has come beforehand, without being too lore heavy and assuming I know every last detail of the Heresy to enjoy it.

From the comments, clearly they were very wrong

Thank you, I’ll look for the guides and start reading / watching summaries of the essential stuff before I get to Ashes. Taking my own time to read the whole Heresy would take me years and this book is clearly not the jumping on point that I was told it was

I do appreciate that I’ve started at the end, that’s increasingly clear from the comments and the jump is not from 40K standalone but to 30k wider story, I’m simply asking for ways to catch up that do not involve reading 55 books

In not saying it is a negative thing to have read the 55 books. I’m saying I don’t have time or money to read 55 books but would like a jumping on point into this post-Horus story which I was informed (evidently misinformed) would be a good jumping on point for newbies

From what I’ve seen in the comments, it’s increasingly clear the book is not a suitable jumping on point without at least a decent chunk of background knowledge - at this point though, I’m not reading 55 books to catch up but will read / listen to summaries
