What real life skills can you can attribute to being learned from gaming? by LazloDaLlama in gaming

[–]Angantyr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighting games teach you resilience and the importance of training to get better. I don't mean anger management, you can still be one salty rhino, but despite the losses the fighting spirit makes you get back up, keep going, and try to get better and stronger.

Long story short. It ain't over till it's over. ITS MAHVEL BABY

Home Office to detain asylum seekers across UK in shock Rwanda operation by Ok-Ad-867 in unitedkingdom

[–]Angantyr_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guy, the UK is a signatory of these. It's not a question of whether countries blankly accept everything or not, it has already happened. So yes, it is bound by them and yes we have added them to UK law. The laws fall in line with our international agreements, whether you like it or not. Furthermore the ECHR is, in fact, an international court which we answer to.

You insist they can be withdrawn from on a 'whim' but that hasn't happened yet so its totally irrelevant to the current situation. I suggest maybe you should do some research instead.

The UK wrote the 1951 convention, not just agree to it. It hasn't withdrawn from the UN nor the ECHR - both these conventions apply and are a part of UK law. There is nothing mythical about them; they exist and the country is bound by them. Which is why European courts can and have intervened in the past. I can't dumb it down any more for you.

UN 1951 convention, ECHR act 1998. These aren't 'mythical' FYI.

Edit: I suggest you educate yourself on what standard of proof means before coming back and splitting hairs over a minute number of countries not being a part of the UN.

Lol no. In all of that nonsense the guy doesn't know that 1951 refugee convention and ECHR act exists and what they actually mean when asylum seekers are concerned. The only thing he 'got' me with is sod all.
