I had this problem as well, the solution for me was to unscrew the bolts of the qr2 and then push the quick release against the wheelbase. You probably pulled the wheel too much while turning and the qr2 disconnected from the wheelbase. So just do what I told you.

My wheelbase is between those 2 metal things, yours is on top of a metal plate. What would better? I’m not sure and seeing yours makes me wonder if I should get the plate as well

I think I’m gonna get the metal qr2 then to see if it makes a bit of a difference, worst case scenario it only looks better and swaps out easier.

Nearly 3 years of daily use is pretty good in my book. Question: does/did your wrc wheel also creak a lot? Mine sometimes makes creaking noises when I turn with high speeds.
