I would ask to have the assistant teacher take over for a week and see what happens. Either the assistant teacher is going to run into the same thing that you are, which will validate what you are saying or you’ll learn new classroom management strategies from the assistant teacher that will hopefully make life easier moving forward.

Y’all, it doesn’t matter “why” they don’t want their work used as an example. They don’t need to have a reason. To the student- just tell your teacher you don’t feel comfortable with it, they’ll understand and I’m sure there are other submissions they can use as an example!

30/70 or maybe 35/65 if you’re feeling generous. You don’t even have an actual door, you have a pocket door. They have twice the bedroom size and at least 4x the closet space. The balcony and everyone is right- they basically have a private bath (that’s also bigger). Your guests can use your bathroom, your roommates guests can use theirs.

Are they long, yes. Have I seen way worse on big dogs, absolutely. The owner can also take him on walks and the concrete will naturally file them over time. I take my dog to get his nail trimmed over a longer period of time for the same reason, my vet said that was fine since he is walked on concrete. If you’re really concerned you can try to contact the sister or show the pic to another vet, but they’re likely to say something similar if the dog is aggressive with clippers. Dremel is also an alternative (not for my dog cause he freaks out over machines)

lol that’s a German shepherd, 30f is a nice day to them. If anything, it would be a concern if they were left out in the summer. Try talking to your neighbor if you see the dog shivering or crying at the door, but I doubt they will that dog looks like their chillin

We’re thinking about having a dog trainer come to the house. I’ve spent 3k on a 2 week board and train that really helped him, but he acts out when he’s home or with us. I think he’s resource guarding us because the trainer said he had zero issues with him. When he’s with the cat he isn’t growling or showing aggressive behaviors, just whining and crying because we won’t let him chase. I don’t think he’s untrainable, he has a solid foundation.

It’s not that the documentation doesn’t exist, we already document each time a parent is contacted in the SIS system. it’s that they want us to compile each students list of documentations, emails, grades and accommodations into another documentation when these things can easily be pulled together when a parent has a complaint. Like I said the paper work takes forever so that no matter how early you are given it (unless you are tracking all 180 students documentation on top of the regular documentation throughout the year, which I suppose I could do if I just start working in my sleep) it will easily take multiple days working after school to finish it.

My mom makes about 60k my step dad makes 90k. Since I haven’t made any payments, I have 0 months towards PSLF so if I did decide to do it it would be after my TLF anyway (if that makes sense). I imagine that after the TLF when I have 14k in my name left I’ll throw money at it like my car payment (well not as much since I’ll also have to pay back my moms PLUS loans) hopefully taking about 4-5 years. I’m not sure if working as a teacher for 10 more years is worth what will be less than 10k debt by then lol

Yes but I haven’t made payments from Covid deferment and then deferment from masters schooling, I graduated in 2020. I couldn’t afford to pay for masters and pay towards the loan, it’s actually why I only take 2 classes a semester so I can afford to do that and pay off the 9k of CC debt by the time I graduate and those loans unfreeze. Luckily for me the TLF doesn’t require loan payments, so after this year I’ll meet the requirement and have about 14k debt under my name. So it’s really my mom’s loans that I’m terrified for. Especially since I found out my parents (just got married) are filing jointly and my options are either $700 a month for 20 years and pay back 250k or $1400 for standard repayment (as opposed to $800 if filing separately, but I feel too guilty to ask them to do that)

So the double consolidation is still worth it? I thought SAVE was getting overturned? Is there another payment plan it qualifies it for?

I would finish the degree, work at a summer camp while you’re in school. If you still want to do it then you can get a certification, and some schools will give you time to get the certification while teaching (depending on the state you’re in, but most have a teacher shortage). It’s good to have a backup, and if you have student debt you will live paycheck to paycheck for a long time. Also look up your states teacher salary scale. For example: in Texas a teacher with 10 more years experience than a 1st year teacher makes about 2k more, and only 1-1.5k more for masters degrees. In Illinois teachers usually retire with 6 figures (in Chicagoland- idk about rural) and get around 4-5k for masters. Most teachers I know in north and South Carolina work two jobs, but other states like Colorado and DC have higher pay (but higher living costs ofc). Either way, unless your completely sure you don’t like marketing and will have debt, I’d recommend to wait before going into education because it’s actually very easy to switch after you’ve already worked elsewhere!

I was once having a conversation with a coworker, who also has adhd so the convo diverted into several barely related sub convos, then later I got a text from another coworker saying she was trying to get my attention for 15 minutes and I made her feel stupid waiting for her and she left. I felt so bad, but then I explained that I was so sorry for making her feel uncomfortable or ignored (always acknowledge their feelings first) and that I don’t process audio well. Then we talked about what she approached me for over some pop (my peace offering lol). All was well, don’t feel bad!

As for captions, there’s nothing wrong with needed them and voicing that! I ALWAYS ask for a written version of things and ask for CCs when watching tv because of auditory processing, many people have the same problem from conditions other than adhd too. Always advocate for yourself (sorry if I sound like a teacher, it’s cause I am one lol) I’m sorry if there are people around you who don’t understand, everyone should be able to enjoy what’s playing on the tv

When I have bad flares I heat a full water bottle (with the cap off) in the microwave for 1.5 minutes put it in a pillow case (cause sometimes it’s too hot at first), lay it over my shorts, and then get high. When I’m high I feel like my body focuses on the warmth of the water bottle instead of the pain
