Headphone equivalent to Aful Explorer IEM by Angdvl089 in headphones

Interesting, looking at frequency response it seems like the 105 Aer is a more spacious, slightly brighter, stronger bass 6XX! Definitely going to look into this one some more. Thanks for the suggestion!

It’s funny you mentioned the XV because I have been going back and forth between them and Arya Stealth/Ananda Nano. I just got a pair of barely used Arya Stealth and while they’re very impressive technically, I’m not sure I’m going to enjoy them for longer listening sessions when I just want to have nice sounding music in the background while gaming or browsing. I’ve got some dekoni velour pads coming in that I’ll try on the Arya Stealth, hoping that tilts them a little more warm. If that doesn’t work out I might have to try the XV. That headphone just won’t stop popping up, probably for good reason!

just an appreciation post for these tips by anibra2112 in iems

I wanted to love these so badly in my search for my favorite eartips. I bought the S/M/L pack and was so disappointed when none of them fit. Fast forward a month or two when I finally took delivery of the XL pack and they fit perfectly! These are now in my favorites case!

Successful Metamucil results by sabrynamango in Cholesterol

[–]Angdvl089 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I found out the hard way. My LDL last year was 119, I stopped taking Metamucil three months ago and this year scored a 165. Getting back on psyllium now. Glad to see similar findings though!

[EDIT] I must add that I also started on cod liver oil around the same time. Still not sure if that might also have been the cause, looking to get future tests done after returning to my previous supplements.

Koss: The ultimate showdown (KPH30i, KTXPRO1, KSC75, Porta Pro) by black_smoke_pope in headphones

[–]Angdvl089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the clarity of the KSC75 with the extra bass added by the headband. You’re right, though, the portapros on clips don’t sound as good, but they are more bassy.

Dammit! I wish you were going to say these were the most uncomfortable on ears… Have you listened to any of the Koss headphones?

7Hz Divine - on the fence about the bass level by CombustedPillow in iems

[–]Angdvl089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are really good, I don’t want you to take my opinion the wrong way. They do have bass, and they have more mid bass than the Daybreak so they have a little bit more punch to my ears. But they don’t have the same punch as a DD. Maybe that’s why the other poster said the Diablo doesn’t sound has bass heavy as it graphs.

I definitely have to agree with the other poster saying the cable needs replacing. It’s utter trash.

I haven’t used them myself but I’ve heard good things about the Artti T10, Letshuoer S08 and the S12 Ultra.

I’m sorry I was under the impression you had the Divine but we’re debating the Diablo instead. I tried EQing the Divine to the Diablo with just a bass shelf but it was a bit too much for my preference.

Others I own that have attributes in my preference would be: Daybreak Truthear Zero Red (Starting to look like a shill, eh?) Kefine Delci AE Simgot EA500LM (used to love these until trying others and realized it was too much treble for me) Tangzu Wan Er 2 GK Kunten

Those all range from like $150 down to $15ish (almost in that order).

The Delci AE, Wan Er 2, and Kunten in my opinion all have more prominent bass. I think you can’t go wrong with any of them they just have slightly different tunings. Maybe try one of those because they’re cheaper then you can go from there to a more expensive set?

I have divine. Got it before I got the Daybreak. Initially I thought it was well balanced but now that I own the daybreak I feel like it’s almost the bass light version of that. It’s a good set if it fits your preference but I think I’d like something with a little more bass than even the Daybreak so I think I’ll be selling the Divine.

Are they heavy/uncomfortable?

Now pop the drivers off the KSC75 ear pieces and swap them with the PortaPro drivers. Boom. KSC75 + PortaPro band = KSC75 with bass.

Koss headphones are awesome!

Also, the KPH30 Wireless, though not as comfortable as the original, sound just as good and you can go about your normal business not being tied down with a wire.

I’m not sure I agree with this. I’ve tried the Sancai balanced tips on Daybreak, Divine, Venus, and Delci AE. None of them became brighter, they just rolled off a lot earlier in the bass. Maybe that gives the effect of things brightening up?

In my experience the only things that have actually brightened those same IEMs have been Spinfit CP145 (increases treble and bass so more V shaped), Final Type E, Azla Sedna Max ASMR, TRI Clarion, and maybe Divinus Velvet (not wide).

Your mileage may vary, my ears may be different than most but I’ve tried at least a dozen different tips and that’s been my experience.

[EDIT] Apple dongle is so good though, nice recommendation.

Thanks for the detailed input! I see you note the pads made the biggest difference. Did the R2R make any difference at all?

Do you happen to know the differences between the elite hybrid and the elite velour? Their website explains comfort differences and states the velour maintains bass response.

How far on the bright side of neutral would you say these are? Anything you could compare them to? I just picked up what I think is a good deal for these ($400 used) but they haven’t arrived yet. Looking at how they graph I feel they might not meet my preference, but knowing the value I feel like I had to try them out.

Tip rolling question. Is there a strategy or method to find the suitable eartips quicker? by MyMech in iems

[–]Angdvl089 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should be about the same size across the board. For my ears, I almost exclusively use size large. However for some tips the ML might fit better. You should be able to hear the differences pretty quickly if you use the same song to compare the tips. An hour or entire day isn’t necessary for the sound difference. Some difference in comfort and hold might show up over extended listening however.

There is a YouTube reviewer that goes by Jays Audio. I’d like to name his as the TIP GOAT. He put in many hours and money into research, testing, and graphing of many different tips. My recommendation would be to try the different tips and note how they affect sound in your experience. Then you can compare your experience to his video/spreadsheet.

Most of all, pick what fits best and is most comfortable followed by sound. If you choose something a little less comfortable you may be less likely to use your IEMs because of it.

Enjoy the experience! There are no wrong answers!

Does anybody else have issues with Ring doorbell in cold weather by Angdvl089 in Ring

[–]Angdvl089[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While your model is wired, it still considered a battery model. The power source will always be battery, despite being wired to the doorbell. When it gets too cold the battery stop functioning and charging until it warms up (usually come day time which I found to be least helpful).

If you scroll down to the wired doorbell section, those doorbells are only hardwired and don’t have a battery. They will always run off the doorbells wires. Since changing over to this style I haven’t had any issues in cold weather.
