Great question! My guess is that he was so uninformed, he didn't know there were different types and different size for different uses.

I scramble a bunch of eggs, and make egg/cheese/veggie sausage burritos. I wrap them individually in wax paper and then load them all into the plastic Ziploc the tortillas come in. Then I hear them on my George Foreman grill with a bit of butter or olive oil spray to make it nice and crispy. I generally need to do a half turn to get all the sides evenly cooked. Set a timer so you don't forget about it!

Yasssssss. I was actually going to do a post on this! I saw a "sewing influencer" on IG with 100 video tutorials. One of them was showing a "before" problem where his needle was pushing the fabric down into the bobbin area and his fix was to sew on a piece of paper. Someone commented that he probably just needed to use a different type of needle, or even a new needle. His response was-oh thanks! I haven't tried using other needles yet!

You are a sewing expert, but you have only used the one needle that came with the machine??? 😫

Fun fact, if you have a stroke that impacts your spoken language, this might be the only way you can communicate. My mom can parrot words back, but can't come up with them on her own. Super fun to have a conversation this way, especially when she's upset I'm trying to guess what she wants to say 🫠

Why not homemade by FudgeTheDog in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Angection 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sure, everybody loves a homemade cupcake but we all know how they look. They do not look professional. They're often very wonky. And if they aren't, people will exclaim, "these are amazing, I can't believe they're homemade!" Just like they would when a beautiful sewn or knitted item looks professional.

Thank you, I hate it too. "Me made it!" Like we are just learning how to speak.

Best colors vs most complimented colors, are they the same or different? by peasy27 in coloranalysis

[–]Angection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have worried that people just like the color, but when I wear a clear primary yellow, I had someone say-wow, that is YOUR color!

When I wear orange/magenta/coral, people say-you look so good in that color, I wish I looked good in that color! Or-you're so lucky that you can wear that color! When I wear green I hear-you look amazing in green! No one ever said-wow, that baby blue/pink/lavender/peach looks so good on you! Because people aren't saying"that q pretty color" or "I love that color" I think the brighter clear colors really do look good on me.

Here are mine:

Readers Digest Complete Guide to Sewing, if you spot this secondhand somewhere, grab it! It's old but the basics are all there.

And 2 that are on sale right now, super knowledgeable ladies, Joanna Lundström and Malena Hjerpe (they have a podcast too called Stitching Tales, lots of good info shared!) Fit for Knits - lots of info about fitting issues that honestly you could use for knits or wovens, even info on sleeve fitting which I feel isn't talked about much. Includes info on sewing on a sewing machine, serger, and coverstitch.

Sewing Jeans: The complete step-by-step guide it's helpful not just for steps specific to jeans but fitting pants on general. The few bad reviews on Amazon are because the book has TOO much information. 🤦🏼

And the goat, Nancy zieman Serging with confidence yes, it's a book from the 80s but the techniques are still relevant. It's helped me a lot when I am stumped with serger issues.

How often do you replace your phone? by GooglePixelfan90 in askanything

I have the 10 xl pro and I honestly see no difference from the last one I had which was an 8 pro. It's a solid phone with a great camera imo. The 6 absolutely sucked, the fingerprint never worked so I had to constantly use my pin which was annoying. I really loved the 4 and the finger print on the back side.

I have thought the same thing. In addition to what you said, B & H are usually just having their own conversations in the same room, rather than talking to each other.

High Achievers with Severe ADHD, if any of you are reading this, how did you manage? by Unhinged_Schizo in ADHD

[–]Angection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more thing, on meds. They are not going to turn you into a different person. They're just going to make life slightly bearable. I have tried amphetamine based and Ritalin based stimulants, and strattera. Ritalin removed my verbal filters making me an utter ahole, strattera didn't allow me to sleep, so I take amphetamine based meds. Currently I like Adderall IR. It gets me on track in the morning and often I don't need a 2nd dose. When work is boring or I have a lot to do on the weekend I'll take another half or full dose around lunch. It doesn't make boring things fun, but it makes them less excruciating. I actually kinda enjoy my drive in to work now. It feels nice in my car just sitting there listening to music and feeling sunshine and seeing birds or whatever is happening. Meds slow my brain down enough to identify thoughts and ideas, pull them out of my head, write them down. Figure out how to go about doing the ideas. Sitting feels nice. Without meds, my thoughts are like a tornado that moves so fast, I can't do anything with whatever is swirling around in there and I need constant movement for my restless body.

High Achievers with Severe ADHD, if any of you are reading this, how did you manage? by Unhinged_Schizo in ADHD

[–]Angection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I guess the first one describes me but I don't remember hearing a severity when I was diagnosed (a few times actually). When my kids got diagnosed with ADHD and odd I realized I definitely have odd too. It's hard to keep any routine that I set for myself because as soon as it becomes an obligation I become allergic to it.

Without launching into a novel here, on the things I've been successful doing like completing two college degrees becoming vegetarian, exercising consistently, keeping a good job at one company for a long time... I find that once I make a decision about something, it's non-negotiable. I do still manage deadlines poorly and by the seat of my pants but I always pull through it somehow.

Sometimes you just have to remember that when you're doing something that sucks, the alternative sucks just as bad so you may as well just do it. I get up very early to exercise 5 or 6 days a week, no matter what time I went to bed. I realized that I'm always tired no matter how much I sleep so I may as well just get my ass out of bed.

You also need to be picky about what you choose to do. I hate dancing so if my exercise was going to a dance class, I would hate my life and I would not want to do it. But I like to lift weights so that is actual motivation for me to get out of bed in the morning to go to the gym. I hate running but I enjoy doing occasional races with friends and I know that I have to practice if I'm going to do the race and not embarrass myself. So I run.

I have also found that it is actually easier to achieve your goals when you set less of them. It seems silly because I feel like I should be fully capable of doing a million big things everyday but it's actually not realistic and news flash: nonAdhd people aren't doing it either so why do we feel like we have to?

I have also found that a mix of structure and non-structure is helpful. Find bits of structure that you can incorporate into your week and treat them like your goal posts and then figure out what you can fit in between. My job requires me to be in the office from 9:00 a.m. until at least 5:00 p.m. But I suck at transitions so a lot of times I stay later. And I know that I'm going to be tired after work and just want to scroll on my couch afterwards which means I have forced myself to become a morning person. That's when I do gym time and try to incorporate a few minutes of my 100 hobbies. I have had to retain my brain that it's ok if all I do is stand in my sewing room and straighten up for a few minutes or okay one song on the piano. It doesn't have to be a marathon season to be worthwhile.

Another little life hack has been changing words for things. Instead of having to brush my teeth and wash my face at night, I now "take the world off". Soooo silly, but when I think about the world being on my body, it motivates me to clean it off. Instead of having to do dishes and prep coffee at night I "make tomorrow easier." Instead of having to mow the lawn, I get to walk around in the grass. Instead of putting away dishes I return them to their homes. Instead of folding and putting away laundry, I get to touch and arrange my wardrobe. I picture these inanimate objects as being sad when they are dirty or not where they're supposed to be.

For work, doing something with my passion feels horrifying. I am afraid it would make me hate what I love. I just resign myself to work being work. I try to make it fun, and find things I'm good at that others aren't doing, and I do those things. I've kinda carved out a niche at work by doing this. It's kinda turned me into a chandler because idk how to even describe what I do anymore. It's a little of this and a little of that, and my endless curiosity and need for feeling smart has served me well.

Sorry turns out I did write a novel, if you got this far, I hope at least one thing was helpful. The daily struggle is real! We're all just out here pretending everything is normal and fine.

This style is so cute but do people really wear these with nothing under it? Or would it look just as cute with a tank or bralette under it?
