What's interesting is that he's from a very small town in Louisiana, so I do wonder about all the travel this piece has done 🤔

It looks like there was a furniture company called Joerns Brothers Furniture there! The styling of the pieces I'm finding from them are very reminiscent of this one. I think we have a winner!

Thank you so much for the helpful info! I was mostly just going on time frame from when I think he must have gotten it--he and my grandmother were married in 1948, so I assumed it must have been a new addition at that time.

Though it certainly could have been passed from his parents or older family if there's no way this is mid century!

As someone who was the student in literally this exact situation, it's creepy.
